Welcome to the Patch General Discussion thread for the League of Legends subforum. This thread is for discussion around League of Legends and the most recent patch. We're happy with Kassadin's direction as a high-mobility mana-fueled void mage, but he's a little under-equipped for the job. Old Kassadin could survive by blowing up targets (dead targets don't deal damage), but since the rework put more emphasis on his mobility and close combat, he's had some problems sticking around the fight. These changes are to give Kass more opportunities and rewards when he Riftwalks into the fray.

Summoner Spells


Heal


The Heal debuff was something we should have left in when we updated the summoner spell. Without the debuff, ther's no real drawback to bringing multiple Heals to a fight instead of an assortment of spells.

Heal is 50% less effective on allies previously Healed within the past 35 seconds. This debuff only applies when an ally has been healed by the Summoner Spell Heal.

Now that we've hit the middle of the 2014 season, we were able to safely assess how to update Twisted Treeline to the new game flow mechanics.

Bots


We flipped the switch on a suite of bot improvements at the tail end of the 4.5 patch cycle - you can find the changelist in the Patch 4.5 Notes and head over to the dev blog for the scoop on our goals to make bots more human. This patch is a continuation of those efforts.

  • Bots will now purchase and use Warding trinkets, Sightstone and Sight Wards

    • Wards are placed as bots roam, granting vision of the jungle

    • Wards are used to try to gain vision of enemies in brush when bots are chasing; LESS FACE CHECKING!

  • Bots now have a 50% chance of playing Blue-side in Co-op vs. AI, with players on Purple-side

  • Fixed a bug where bots would stop to cast instant-cast items and spells (e.g. toggling Ashe's Frost Shot, using a potion)

  • Removed some abuse cases that could be exploited while bots were recalling

I highly disapprove of the renaming of Spray & Pray.

Edit: The CN thing should be clarified in that the CN players actually play on KR servers so they're technically up to date. That said, it's a fucking atrocity that LPL is played on patches that are so far behind.

fml they went with rumble buffs, i fucking hate that champion and the fact he shits on my beloved vlad, now this lane will be completely unwinnable, guess new legendary skin sales werent good so they had to buff him zzzzzzz

Rather large kass/gragas/rumble buffs, but they were all underperforming so we shall see.

Worried about Kass sneaking up and getting stupidly strong again though. He has the sort of kit where he's either winning hard or losing hard, it's kinda hard to be middle of the road.

Heal might not be 100% better then barrier in every situation now. (Actually, it still is, riot...) I'm thinking this will just push heal/exhaust bots, and still having barrier no where to be found anymore (having mid/bot have 1 heal each, or just bot having a heal).

Kassadin now has the highest mana in the game at lvl 18. Good thing he doesn't have any spells that scale with mana.

as much as i hate the delete list people have, rumble is probably up there on the list for me, the bonuses look pretty damn good on the shield danger zone though. They probably wanted to open up other variation for lane trades instead of just using Q on dangerzone.

It also varies across teams and players, not all teams play solo queue on Korean servers, or if they do, they don't play exclusively on Korean ladders.

Weixiao spent some time grinding #1 China a while ago for example (and the rest of WE did as well apparently as part of some new coaching initiative where they go play solo queue and stomp people to get confidence lol)

And they scrim and practice on China servers since, you know, that's what LPL is on ~_~

Let's be honest though. LPL doesn't need new patches. They build Mejais and Sword of the Occult, which are purchasable in any patch.

Yeah, I just want to clarify that it's not like CN players are going into All Star totally blind but they do have a severe handicap for whatever reason (Tencent and/or Riot's).

For what it's worth, word on the street is that OMG is taking All-Stars relatively seriously and are actually actively trying to acclimate themselves to new patches through the Korean servers, since their first place rank is locked in already.
