Weekly Cup Competitions
Week of January 19 - 25
by Wax
A number of top cup contenders took Monday and Tuesday off following the All-Star Invitational, which contributed to an atypical line-up of winners in Bunny, Trigger, and MaxPax. Still, herO wouldn't remain sidelined for the wrong, as he added to his All-Star winnings by claiming the 13th annual OSC Championship.

January 19: WardiTV Mondays #70
![[image loading]](/staff/Waxangel/misc/weeklies/wardimon070.png)
The week began with one of the most surprising WardiTV cups in recent memory, with both herO and MaxPax going out after suffering PvP upsets. That gave us ShoWTimE vs Bunny in the finals—a match-up you'd hardly expect to see in the top-heavy cup scene.
Bunny took better advantage of the situation, taking a 3-1 victory to win the cup. Bunny's proclivity for playing hectic games came in useful in the finals, as he won two of the games in chaotic basetrades (VOD).

January 19: Monday Night Weeklies #37

PvP was the source of surprises once more in Monday Night Weeklies, with Trigger taking two series wins over MaxPax to win the cup. The BO3 finals saw MaxPax try to play a throwback style with his old Void Ray fast expansion strategy, but Trigger bested him with two 1-base all-ins (VOD (Russian)).

January 20: PiGosaur Cup #65

The third time was the charm for MaxPax, as he managed to get in his sole cup win of the week in his final attempt. MaxPax's straight-up PvT proved to be too strong for Cure, who surrendered a 1-3 defeat in the finals. Interestingly enough, Cure did manage to upset herO in the RO4 by playing mostly standard, so it bears looking out for a Cure resurgence in the coming weeks (VOD).

January 6-22: OSC World Championship 13
![[image loading]](/staff/Waxangel/misc/weeklies/OSCWC13.png)
Despite floundering in the weekly cups, herO locked in for a bigger payday in the ~$5000 OSC Championship. herO's high seeding meant he only had to play three matches to win, but he was still heavily tested with a match against Clem and two matches against Classic.
The BO7 grand finals against Classic was another cheese-fest that's become typical of the two top Protoss players in the current meta, with Classic playing slightly more on the aggressive side. The results of their games can feel like little more than the flip of a coin, but this time around, chaos favored herO as he came out with a 4-2 victory (+1 map winners bracket advantage) (VOD).

January 25: uThermal 2v2 Circuit - Bonus Cup #2
![[image loading]](/staff/Waxangel/misc/weeklies/thermy2v2_2026_bonus2.png)
The 2v2 bonjwas Spirit & MaxPax mercifully sat out this edition of uThermal's 2v2 cups, giving the other teams a fighting chance. It ended up being the newly formed team of Elazer-Harstem that came out on top, winning 3-0 over Creator-ByuN in the finals (VOD).
