Hi, I have been off the galaxy editor for years and have just this week discovered the "publishing is not enabled" message ...
I went on the search but I ended up with nada! Could anyone chime in to update me on where we are at?
Do some people still update, upload ? (note that I tried to update maps or upload a brand new "emptiest possible custom" map to be sure)
Is there a way if you do get the message to get "screened" by blizzhard ? (like buy any small thing on their "marketplace" so as to connect your account in an extra manner or whatever ?!)
Mmm? kind of puzzled here ! Thank you in advance for good/bad news <3

Hihi!
Yeah, sadly uploading of maps is disabled until further notice from Blizz
They are working on it.. They did a patch and had advanced a lot, but something unknown happened which caused this reconsideration of uploading maps for the time being.
We need to sit tight until further communication comes our way

Is this what is causing the maps for Arcade/Melee "Blizzard Maps" not to show up anymore? I can create custom games with LOTV but not the other two. It shows up history of maps played but if I try and create I get an error. So basically I can't play anything but LOTV custom games which sucks.

Unlikely, there seems to be alot of issues with Blizzard's fetching as not only maps are not showing up there's been issues with chat channels being loaded, clans, portraits have been reported missing, etc. We have no idea what's going on behind the scenes.

Very sad situation and community seems to be ok with it, very sad !
The community using map editors from blizzard have been the life of rts .. no?
Consequently if this latest one dies, it seems sensible to fear that all rts will die/suffer from it ?

The community is not okay with it, the arcade scene and quiet a few prominent content creators have been constantly complaining about it idk what rock you're under, but no one can do anything about it. AOE2 is still thriving just fine, same with War3's UMS scene with champs, and BW has it's niche scene as well. The other games don't have the issues that SC2 does.

If it's true they're trying to release new Starcraft games they're pretty horribly sabotaging the IP beforehand. The publishing ban started in like April 2025. We're approaching a full year of having limited to no capacity for developing, testing, bugfixing, or deploying maps. Their inability to get publishing back up to speed is going to make a Team Liquid map contest impossible to run normally and if they go ahead with it anyway it's very possible it will crash and burn. The whole thing is stifling the ability of community tournaments to diversify, which is not good for the money flow. Without the capacity to test with players, my own capacity to implement and test bugfixes/improvements via mods first has been neutered.
TLDR; we're cooked. If we pass that year-long anniversary date without publishing being re-enabled in some form, I will personally be operating under the assumption it's not coming back, ever, and acting accordingly. If we pass October 1st without it, I would consider it 'official'
