Champions Predictions:

- Sky Sports: Arsenal
- Milka: Leverkusen again
- Enilive: Inter again
- EA Sports: Real Madrid again
- KPN: Feyenoord
- Betclic: Benfica
- McDonalds: PSG

Other predictions:

- At least 4 French clubs go bankrupt and the Ligue 1 season is a farce
- Bayern sack Kompany mid-season and replace him with a youth team coach because they can't find anyone else
- Mbappe gets injured in the first month of the season, Madrid proceed to do better without him
- Newcastle drop off and don't make the European places
- Another Juventus financial scandal of some kind
- Monza are discovered to have attempted to bribe referees while Berlusconi was still alive
- The big 3 Portuguese clubs rinse EPL teams and PSG for a combined 300 million euros in outgoing transfers
- Ronaldo finally wins something in Saudi Arabia
Sucker for nostalgia

I laughed at the portuguese clubs milking :D

Yesterday the portuguese super cup was played and Sporting (current champion) was leading 3-0 at 27 minutes against Porto (who are finally realizing how much in debt the club is after 40 something years of the previous presidency).

It was a scandal despite the team being mostly kids and sporting being clearly better now. . . . Final score 3-4.

They relaxed while 3-0 ahead, some silly mistakes and some lucky bounces later Porto won in overtime.

What are the most contested titles this year?

I guess EPL depends a lot on how City starts and whether they're set up on another 100 point season or so. If City goes for a 80 point season or so, at least Arsenal enters the discussion. Liverpool could be good if a few things click together, but we'll see what kind of post-Klopp hangover happens there. Feels like ManU, Spurs and Chelsea are a few seasons away from really challenging the title and Newcastle has still quite a bit to do before they catch up to big 6.

Spain is probably Real Madrid unless they implode in some kind of internal drama while trying to fit Mbabbe to the picture. The midfield reshuffle could cause some issues, but it's hard to see them struggling too much. Barca made no transfers as far as I can tell, I don't think they're going to have enough gas to really challenge the title.

Germany is weird. A lot depends on how well Leverkusen retained the magic over the summer and how much Bayern can bounce back. Dortmund is always interesting, but it's hard to see them being consistent over the whole season.

Italy is anyone's guess. Should be interesting with Conte in Napoli and all that, but I honestly have no clue on the expected power levels.

Don't think City getting close to 100 points this season, Haaland looks good in pre season, but they have 9 of there starters not even in pre season yet and the season starts in 2 weeks. Pep is a man of principals as well, so we won't be seeing most of those players until the end of August starting games probably. They will and should still beat Chelsea opening day, but they could lose some points while they get up to speed, so it will all come down to if the contenders like Liverpool and Arsenal can hit the ground running to put pressure onto them.

Look at that goal:
https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/1ekaz2y/lanus_32_tigre_walter_bou_90_great_bicycle_kick/

That's just perfection, and it being a game winning goal in the minute 90 makes it even better.

EPL: City and Arsenal top 2. If Arsenal can go ahead in points early and enough they may be able to retain the lead this season. The others (including Liverpool) will be 5-10 points behind.

La Liga: It SHOULD be Real all the way

Italy: No idea. Anyones guess. How is Atalanta? Can they do some more magic this year?

Bundesliga:
Leverkusen did retain all their key Players (so far) Should be up there again.
Dortmund got better and made some good key transfers.
Bayern will fail and Kompany will be gone by Christmas

I agree with the predictions so far.
I think Leverkusen can make it, not that dominating but still will be up top. Dortmund rumors have it that Füllkrug will be sold to West Ham, I am curious if they are going to replace him with another striker or just keep going with what they have.
No clue how good/bad Kompany is but Bayern bosses will screw up somehow anyway.

AFAIK Füllkrug to West Ham is a done deal. As well as Moukoko to Marseille. The plan seems to be to buy Maxi Beier (played a few minutes in the National squad) from Hoffenheim as a replacement

Bayern: Yeah they are all about "rebuilding the squad" and "Kompany will have a lot of leeway" but as soon as they are not top2, Kompany will feel the pressure and depending in all competitions on results will be a gone in january

The Kompany appointment seems so random that there has to be some kind of idea behind it. I don't think it's necessarily a realistic idea or worth chasing, but it's still interesting. We'll see how it goes.

The "idea" behind Kompany as a coach at Bayern is that 3-4 guys rejected their offer before they asked Kompany ^^ He was the first guy to say yes to that job.

Eh just join Pande's. He's got a few more people in there anyways. I'll disband my league and we can join his.

EPL: City wins again, but Arsenal have picked up a couple players that are interesting, especially Calafiori.

I'm excited about Slot's system with Liverpool this season, already looking like very exciting football. Can't wait to see how we do against Sevilla in our friendly before the season starts, and I also like our first two games being against Ipswich and Brentford to have a few lower table sides to sort of figure ourselves out before we go to OT.

La Liga should be RMA obviously. I also expect them to repeat in the UCL but anything can happen.

I think Bayern will play better this season and maybe Kompany will show the team how to win. So I'll have them over Bayern this season.

PSG obviously for Ligue 1.

Serie A is wide open as always, love that the Italian league is fairly even on depth for like the top 6 teams. I think Inter can still do it, Lautaro is still cooking over there especially after a masterful Copa.

julian alvarez to athletico for around 80m euro; well deserved given the fact he's too talented to sit behind haaland every week

I would assume thats at madrid and not athletico right?

Even so, will have to play in simeone style so its a strange move.
