TSM pausing esports and CLG Dead

So Travis and others are reporting that CLG is dead and TSM is pausing their esports ventures.

It's kinda terrifying these 2 former rivals and juggernauts of LoL are dying. Its truly the end of an era since they've have such a storied past since esports really took off in NA in 2010-2011.

I think its the LCS dying and there's been talk of the esports bubble popping. Money is drying up and the Big Tech industry are downsizing. And I think people attribute to Faze losing like 90% of their value on the stock market kinda proves there's so much overevaluation on esports brands.

I don't think it has anything to do with Big Tech, it has to do with the fact that some of these esport teams signed insane contracts with cryptocurrency companies, and that money dried up really fast (FTX...). Esports def experienced a money bubble, it is harder to commercialize a scene that involves people sitting at home rather than going to a stadium and buying merchandise directly. VC is realizing that and isn't going to throw endless money at teams anymore, not in this market.

I think Imeant to say VC money as the cause.Pointing to Big Tech since they’re going through the same problems. I hope TL Pro keeps doing well. It seems they have way better teams but they’re probably hurting.

I saw some blogpost somewhere that we’re probably going to see esports orgs work more like talent agencies (like vtuber or idol agencies) now. Granted that’s been the case for years, I think C9 was the first org to hire personalities as part of their org.

Bjergsen retiring and now this, truly the end of an era. Future doesn't look bright for NA LCS, althought that's been the case for many years now I guess. I don't know about the rest of the regions, obviously LPL will always have a billion viewers but is LEC still doing well?

is TSM even a big brand in china? i remember when LMQ were in the LCS for a couple of seasons but barely had any traction fan-wise so they sold their slot eventually.
