Not bad! I still think if you are a drilled machine like Man City, Foden is your man, but if you’re not I think Cole Palmer can just seize moments and make things happen. Makes me chuckle remembering how many people called Harry Kane a one-season wonder, then a two-season wonder, then a third haha. Of course they eventually pivoted to the ‘he isn’t won a trophy’ angle. | ||

Now just some 20 players left to sell before the transfer window ends. On our end, i hope we get fabio vieira back even though up front is where we have more options (even if quality is sketchy on some) as he will bring the home guy vibe and is a class guy. Sad it didnt work out for him at arsenal. Now we are missing at least 2 CB it would be nice to get someone decent from chelsea for a bargain xD | ||

LFC actually look pretty damn good, some lovely and brilliant ball movement so far from the team, though sadly all of our actual goals so far have been pretty much old-Klopp style ball with counters off set pieces or a simple ball won from the high press and pushed forward extremely quickly. That being said, you can see the team starting to gel around Slot's system. The 1-touch pass sequence around the box where Salah goes from the right wing all the way to the left wing making triangle passes in and out of the box was a thing of beauty, sad that we didn't score off that but might be the best passing sequence I've seen in many many years. In other news, maybe buying Chielsa for 15m as a RW backup for Salah and another option as striker? I see he's pretty flexible in any of the front 3 positions, 15m is pretty cheap and we also have flexiblity in our wage structure after losing both Thiago and Matip so it would be a nice, low risk grab. | ||

I think it depends if you think that his decline after his ACL was more due to his injury, or if it was more due to the system and the team. Lot of Juve fans do seem to still rate him but that he simply doesn't fit into the team anymore and that his demand for higher wages was outrageous considering his place in the team. He's a low risk backup option for any of our front 3 when we inevitably pick up an injury somewhere so honestly I'm totally fine with this. | ||

He strikes me as a very double-edged sword kind of player. He’ll try things and take responsibility, if he’s playing well that might see that bit of magic and him dragging the team to 3 points. If he isn’t, well he’ll make bad decisions and lose the ball. These days even more than past epochs the top teams are very cohesive, drilled units that don’t tend to accommodate too many players like that. He’s for me actually the kind of player who’d be better at a lower level team, where he’s the main man and can make his undoubted quality count. But these days it’s rare for a player of his level to spend much time at a club of that level. Either way, for me it’s definitely one of the more interesting bits of transfer business. Very interested to see how that goes | ||

There is some hope with 2 of those two having great careers even post big ACL injuries . Also crazy to think how good Baggio, ADP and Ronaldo could have been without them. They were still obviously great players, but they were never quite the same. It’s 10 million, which these days is pocket change. So it’s not a massive gamble. I gotta say a lot of business done this summer is pretty insane in terms of some of the fees. Especially the horse-trading the likes of Chelsea, Villa, Everton were doing right at the start of the window which totally wasn’t dodgy or intended to manipulate the books… No wonder very few clubs turn much of a profit if every time they pull in more income, the transfer market just inflates! | ||
