I am an ex 4k terran players, I am now playing zerg around 3k. I have played since release.
I recently started messing around with the editor. I have only got advice from players and not from previous map makers to try to avoid coming in with restrictions on creativity. But now i'm ready for the real sauce from other map makers.
My goal is to make 1v1 Melee maps that require players to work harder for there 3rd/ 4th locations. I am looking to create unique maps that let players use their advantage or disadvantage in different ways.
It would be amazing to see one of my maps live in rotation but expecting that is a bit much for how new I am! I am not aiming for perfect balance just yet. I am having a lot of fun with the editor.
Now none of these I would consider completely finished as I want to touch things up a lot. But before doing so id like to see if i'm headed in the right direction.
I learn how to use the editor as I made these. Most of the layouts and textures were all done in less than a few hours.
