Real time strategy is litteraly what the words mean, real time making/reacting to an opponent doing the same unto you
.. this broadly or with a pin point perfect elite view .. all manners of definition have as much credence to claim the term RTS as theirs.
RTS is usualy assciated with video games but one could say table tennis is an rts ...
Then the definition has to draw the line in the sand somewhere,
so it should be noted that my definition of rts is scbw (starcraft 1 extension "brood war"), but technicaly i should also point out it was warcraft 1 shareware (into w2) that make me addicted to rts.
RTS requires brain eye hands coordination, strategy (pure and technical (mastering/exploiting in built gameplay for instance) and its "eye of the storm" is (or should be in my p o v) DECISION MAKING.
One could argue it could be called "real time decision making with a mouse and keyboard".
