Thank you to everyone who helped bring the season to viewers live and through VODs.
A season like BSL22 only works because many people do quiet work behind the scenes — brackets, Discord, player communication, website work, replay handling, Liquipedia updates, stream infrastructure, graphics and all the small things that viewers usually never see.
BSL22 was also a big media grind: live streams, VODs, clips, posts and regular social updates across the whole season. I worked hard to keep the channels active, and the numbers show that this extra work mattered — with BSL22 we reached beyond the live Twitch broadcast.
All statistics in this section are from the official English BSL stream and English-language BSL channels only. They do not include Spanish, Russian, Chinese, community casts, co-streams or other external coverage.

BSL22 paid out $4,400 in tournament prizes across the season: $3,000 for ProLeague, $1,000 for the Non-Korean Championship, $300 for ladder tournaments, and $100 for GosuLeague.
For this season and the previous one, I was able to cover the missing parts of the budget thanks to Patreon supporters. That regular support is what allows BSL to keep planning ahead instead of rebuilding everything from zero every season.
At the same time, the number of Patreons has been getting smaller month by month, so finding a sponsor or additional partner for the missing part of the next season would make a huge difference for BSL23.
BSL23 season budget target
Planned BSL23 prize pool
The goal is to keep the majority of the budget going straight to players while still covering the invisible work that makes the season possible: casters, admins, graphics, animations, website, transfers and stream infrastructure.
BSL23 target: €8,060 season budget. Prize pool is the biggest part, but the smaller categories are what keep the show running cleanly.

BSL22 did not have a traditional sponsor. This season happened because the community supported it directly.
Every donation, Patreon pledge, Ko-fi support, Twitch sub, gifted sub, and message of encouragement helped keep the season alive. Some people gave a lot. Some gave a little. All of it mattered.
Huge thanks as well to all BSL Patreons. Regular support is what allows BSL to plan ahead, organize events properly, and keep building the foreign Brood War scene instead of starting from zero every season.
Without the support of our Patreons it would be impossible to continue. BSL is scheduled months ahead — regular support helps us plan events for the future.

Even while BSL22 was coming to an end, many people already started helping us build the next season.
The current BSL23 goal reached €4,538, which is 56.7% of the €8,000 season goal, with 40 supporters and 58 tips across four months of streams.
That means a lot. It gives us a real foundation for BSL23, but we are still looking for additional support or a sponsor to fill the missing part and make the next season possible.
Because the Patreon base is getting smaller over time, every new supporter matters — and a sponsor or partner covering the missing part would make BSL23 much safer to run.
Huge thank you to everyone already supporting BSL23. The next season is not guaranteed by magic — it happens because people keep believing that foreign Brood War deserves a serious stage.
Thank you to all players, from ProLeague to ChoboLeague. Thank you to everyone who laddered, qualified, confirmed, showed up on time and played their matches. Thank you to casters and streamers in all languages, admins and helpers, Liquipedia contributors, Challonge organizers, donators, Patreons, and viewers who watched live, commented, clipped moments, shared VODs and supported the players.
And a very special thank you to my wonderful wife, who takes care of our three small kids while I stream — and sometimes even makes sandwiches. That is true championship support.
BSL exists because the foreign Brood War community still cares. Season 22 was another reminder that this game is alive because people keep showing up for it.
We are proud, tired, thankful, and happy that this scene is still alive.
Congratulations again to PL
Bonyth, our BSL22 ProLeague champion, and to CN
Mihu, our BSL22 Non-Korean Champion.
Please share your favorite moments from the season, your feedback, and what you would like to see in future BSL events.
See you in the next one.
