so today/yesterday the news arrived that Klauncher will be discontinued. Klauncher was a multifunctional launcher for SC:Remastered, that had a bunch of functionality such as blocking hackers from matching with you on the ladder, but personally I only used the program to change the colors of myself and my opponent, specifically instead of playing green vs red I was playing with my opponent light blue.
Since I am red-green colorblind, I have always struggled with color settings in Starcraft - as far back as 2003 when they changed map pool for WCG and all of a sudden I realised I could not see my opponents on the minimap at all on some of the tilesets. Then through all of Starcraft 2 it has been a huge issue as well, especially when ghosts/nuke spam became more popular and I was unable to continue playing the game to a reasonable degree.
So finding Klauncher was a really big deal for me, being able to have my opponent with the blue color instead of red made a real difference in enjoyment of the game and playability of the game.
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me now that Klauncher is shut down, and I am forced to play with green vs red again. I have tried changing settings on the monitor, playing with colorblind filters in windows 10/11, but none of that really seems to help very much. The best would be if specifically on the minimap I could play with a different color than red as my opponent, I don't know if there is any software or 3rd party programs that make this possible at all.
im confused cuz i have seen players with K launchers recently. Doesnt the software still works but just not future updates ? or it stopped working all together ?
About the colors have you tried Nvidia color filters ?
Proly a silly suggestion since you have been dealing with this issue since 2003 but i saw on twitter color blind people testing color blind glasses maybe that could help.
About Klauncher funny enough most of hackers i have played were using it lol.
Did you ever try the windows colour filters under the accessibility menu?
Otherwise i use f.lux for luminosity and spectrum shift (mostly warmer at night in the long canadian winter) but you might be able to shift specific tones. It isn't why the tool was made though so may not help at all.
Note those would be system wide changes not just BW

I have tried yeah. Changing 'hue' helps a little bit but makes everything else look so weird too. Changing RGB values really doesn't help much.

I have played with all of the accessibility options in windows 10/11, doesnt really do much for me. I will check out f.lux see if it makes a difference.
It is not the newest version, but I assume the color feature has been in there for a long time. One could extract the color change part and create a standalone app that just changes the color.
EDIT: I guess the source download doesn't contain the source files afterall :/ I suppose one would have to disassemble the executable, which is a humongous task depending on how complex of a piece of software klauncher is. Still unless blizzard actually starts updating remastered again, the current version should continue to work for the foreseeable future.

Im talking about the nvidia game filters. i think is worth trying since it has many more options than the basic nvidia panel.
OP I suppose if you had very friendly people in the game, or all friends, maybe they could all choose colors besides green red? depending on the number of players and color choices? not really a solution for random public games i realize.
