One curious thing to note is that even Spain had some smaller scares in overtime when they went ahead. You'd think they're the team that'll just comfortably hold the ball with man advantage, but for some reason even they started giving up possession and chances. One weird bounce or quality cross or such and we could've been looking at 1-1 despite Argentina not registering anything in the game before that.

I think this might be the main attraction of the sport. It is not always fair, but the suspense is incredible!

Yeah, same, only saw it today. The second red card doesn't show on the FIFA page, so it's one of those 'does it count?' ones. We organize sports fantasy games, wish fifa would make this stuff clear, that would save us a lot of energy.

Being half Argentinian, i find the most horrifying thing is that people there are not even pissed off that their team absolutely shat on their country’s image.

I really believe this is a PR disaster for Argentina, that goes far, far beyond football.

You find this horrifying? My wife is Argentinian and says this is 100% the Argentinian way. So why should normal people be upset about the footballers who acted like each and every one of them would and does... Have you seen the photos in Buenos Aires?

i've been to argentina like 8 times, i've never had a bad interaction with argentines in my life. definitely not like all argentines are like that at all. obviously in sports some football players can act like bullies but it's not all of them and it's not like only argentines do that. you're taking one event where they were clearly very emotionally involved and some of them didn't show their best version and then you are acting like argentine people is morally inferior or something.

with a quick google anyone can find instances where people from any country are acting like thugs or showing gamesmanship so just say whatever you want against the argentine team in this wc but don't extend it to the people.

This is not one event.
The Argentinian team has a history of this. across many tournaments.
