So I have been trying out irelia because she looks interesting.
Had a few games where I own the other team and vice versa, I get owned in some games.

The problem I am facing is that the effectiveness of her is so dependant on when she gets the triforce completed. If I managed to get it early, she is really quite strong in tanking and dealing damage all around as well as offering stuns and slow. If I couldn't get it early enough, she seems too weak to do anything inside the group fights because she doesn't have enough health to dive in too early and doesn't do enough damage as other AP champs.

(I am just lvl15 and so no elo yet)
Can someone tell me if the items sound ok? (for mastery, I mainly get enough for defensive and the extra gold per min)
regrowth pendant into philosopher's stone
boot into mercury boot
ruby crystal into heart of gold
another ruby into phage

The thing I find about these "auto gold generate" items are that it is easy to build, gives good regen and hp and they can be turned into some more advanced items in later game, making the slot not so wasted.
the gold generate is amazing throughout the whole game (even if I died, I can get more gold!) and even better in mid to late game when everyone are dancing around trying to get off a better initiative and win the 5v5 fight.
And so I would delay my tri force a bit just so that I have higher hp to join the 5v5 fights and dealing the true damage, hoping for the slow, and stunning/slowing the right ones.
(and damn, can't wait to try out the spec mode!)

This is the Varus patch, minus the actual champion himself. Riot will most likely toggle him on/available for purchase in the store later this week.

Ryze changes are weird. Lots of changes to him but it looks more like he got buffed rather than nerfed...

Annie buffs are fun.

This concerns me though:

Turret base damage decreased but armor penetration and damage to minions increased


Is this going to effect last hitting at tower? Anyone on PBE played with this patch?

It sounds like they added increased damage to minions just to make sure the turret did the same amount of damage overall with the turret damage decrease so I would imagine last hitting is the same. They seem to want to just make turrets do less damage to squishies and more damage to tanks.

Irelia got buffed?

Better nerf Irelia.

EDIT: The Yi changes are a long time coming. He'll play a lot smoother now with the last couple patch changes (though i still think they hit Alpha Strike a tad bit too hard)

whoah whoah whoah what's this? How much? Do they two shot melee minions now? that would be a HUGE change. If it doesn't change hits to kill why does it even matter that they increased damage to minions?

So, they play Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger music in the playLegends break. I like that a bit more than the casters. A lot more actually.

Also, seems to me that Ryze is just going to be even stronger now. Like, perma ban now. But I can't play mid for anything but pity.
I'm From Canada, so they think I'm slow, eh?

They decreased overall damage so it wouldn't do as much on the first hit or two on champions trying to dive, but they wanted it to do the same damage to minions so they increased minion base damage (compared to the now lower overall damage) to keep that aspect of the game the same. If they just flat reduced the damage to minions it'd probably mess up lasthitting ranged creeps.

I doubt they'd change the damage to minions and just wanted to nerf the damage to champions to promote more battles without having to be as scared of taking tower shots. At least that's what I'm hoping was their thought process. And it does matter if it changes damage but not number of hits for those champions with really low base AD that aren't in the normal 2 + 1 AA and 1 + 2 AA group to kill minions.
