Welcome to the General Discussion thread for the League of Legends subforum. Free feel to talk about anything LoL related here that does not already have its own thread. While posting standards tend to be rather lax in this thread, pointless spam will not be tolerated.

There is no new champion for this patch.

This is so smart I can't believe it hasn't been implemented before!

God I'm psyched to play, must've been a week since I had a chance. Tonight is the night!

Wait, no actual balance changes? I thought for sure they'd nerf Rengar and Jayce and possibly Orianna and Ezreal this patch. Glad they fixed the Rengar double jump though.

They said something about concern over new players getting confused over some of the more esoteric skins e.g. piltover customs blitzcrank

ikr, advertising skins while playing the game.
Pretty sure this was suggested on TL like monthsssss ago.

In other news, SlayerS (SC2) team is disbanding and apparently SC2 pros, like Coca, Min, Puzzle, have jumped ship and starting LoL (or they've been playing for a while now). Will be interesting to see in the next few weeks/months if any of these former SC2 pros get picked up by a Korean LoL team. Not to kick SC2 while they're down, but having SC2 talent enter the Korean LoL pool is still pretty big news for us. :O

Just QoL stuff atm. Tweaks, but nothing to balance.

Morello has already stated that Ez and Jayce will get the nerfbat, so be patient.
Not sure about Rengar.

Well, why would they pick them up unless they are already really good at the game? It's pretty different skill sets you need, not like bw -> sc2 or something. They obv. have some talent for pc games, but it's hard to say if the succeed in a different genre.

Do korean sc2 pros have the same work ethic bw pros had? 'That would definitely help.

I don't think it would be THAT insane to see them get picked up by SK1 if they end up being pretty good.

Not all sc2 koreans have the work ethic. but you can bet your ass slayers did.

They might have the same work ethic or they don't. It's tough to say with comparison to the games. It didn't take the BW elephants very long to catch up to the sc2 pros. Looking at the Enter the Dragon tournament going on there is a mass amount of Korean teams. Finding one might be challenging, considering there might not be a big amount of tournaments going on in Korea. Though the money and demand definitely seems to be there.

I do love the fact that LoL is so big in the states. Well see it plenty at MLG, special MLG events as well as IGN events. Friendly times and possible trips. This obviously puts a limit on the amount of Korean teams. Because even though some want the best of the best. You need to have the fan favorites TSM/CLG participating to get the crowd. Especially if its going to be local. However with time like sc2, the Koreans will win us over with their personality as well as their play.

Really curious to see how the AS change (buff) works out.

Gotta do some testings.

Also glad they fixed the Rengar jumps.

woot slayers disbanding really? damn guess it all went downhill after the MMA controversy and Boxer leaving for SkT

never imagined coca and puzzle, who were quite good in sc2 to abandon sc2 but I welcome them to LoL^^

I'm in a bit of a predicament and I felt this would be better posted here as it isn't really a tech problem. I hadn't finished my 10 placement matches, doing 3 of them and planning to finish them later. I finally got to doing it yesterday but after 1 game, my elo reset back to lower than it was before season two even started (I hit silver in season 1 and thus started at 1275. Currently 1270 with apparently only a single game in ranked done. It isn't a huge problem but I didn't want to mass games to hit gold this week because of exams . I was pretty confident I would've gotten my gold in solo in 3 more games too. =(

I feel like there are way too many ban-worthy champs at the moment. Or at least, too many champs where if you don't ban them you feel like saying "fuck me why didn't I ban this piece of shit". Nerfs soon, riot pls.

Attack speed buffs / debuffs will now immediately take effect instead of having to wait for the next autoattack

...
Oh. I read the patchnotes from the interface, so French by default, and it said "the autoattacks buffs/debuffs (...)". So I decide to copy/paste it here to ask clarifications, but then I'd better just take the English version. So I paste it, and suddenly all seems clear in my mind. >_>
Stupid French translation.

So, does that mean that any buff/debuff will take effect on the "current" autoattack (say you start your animation, Nasus withers you, the rest of the animation will be slowed) or does it apply to stuff like Rengar's Q where you get the bonus when you cast rather than after you've attacked?
Cant take LMS hipsters serious.

Well, the hope is that some day a majority of the champ pool will feel strong enough to ban without any of them being "ban or lose". I think it's honestly closer now that it's been in recent memory, there's ~20 + Show Spoiler +

that feel strong enough to deserve bans depending on picks and what not in solo queue (maybe not tourney play, ofc), and others that are strong enough that they can stand well enough on their own even against the ban worthy champs. There really are very few picks out there that I feel are in a dead useless state, and most of them are in talks about reworks.

Are Graves and Sona really in a ban-worthy state? I felt that Graves was just pretty solid, a strong pick but not overpowered. Sona is pretty strong, but I have a hard time believing that she manages to beat out the other supports in terms of OPness. Her ability to adapt is great, and her ult is pretty much one of the best, but then you have champs like Janna who can keep a team alive forever or Nunu who can make his carry so much stronger while keeping the other team doing a lot less damage.
