Weekly Cup Competitions
Week of January 12 - 18

The return of Monday Night Weeklies gave us the full trio of Monday-Tuesday cups, which served as a dress rehearsal for the weekend's StarCraft II All-Star Invitational event. herO, MaxPax, and Solar were victorious in the cups, while the games gave us a few hints at how the games would transpire in Hangzhou.

January 12: WardiTV Mondays #69

The week began with some surprises in the WardiTV Monday cup, with Trigger's 2-1 upset over MaxPax in the RO16 throwing the upper bracket into chaos. In the end, it was Elazer who survived the mayhem, utilizing his aggressive ZvP style to take down Trigger in the semis.
However, order was ultimately restored in the finals as herO took care of business against Elazer to win the cup. To give some minor spoilers of the All-Star event, herO didn't reveal any secrets in the finals, snowballing off of Adept tactics (with Glaives and without) to take a 3-1 victory (VOD).

January 12: Monday Night Weeklies #36

MaxPax redeemed himself in the following Monday Night Weeklies tournament, getting wins against Reynor and herO (x2) en route to winning the cup. The ever-shifting finals format for MNW settled on a single BO3 this time around, pitting MaxPax and herO against each other in a high-volatility PvP. MaxPax took a convincing 2-0, winning the first game by repelling an all-in and game two in a traditional Phoenix war (VOD).

January 13: PiGosaur Cup #64

Solar got himself a cup victory before heading to Hangzhou, winning PiGosaur Cup at the expense of MaxPax in the finals. Solar's deep bag of ZvP tricks was just enough to earn him a 3-2 victory against the elusive Dane, with his surprise Mutas clinching the series in game five (VOD).

January 17: uThermal 2v2 Circuit - Bonus Cup #1 (Jan)

uThermal continued to fuel the 2v2 scene with an additional cup, supplementing the main January cup held earlier in the month. The January monthly was conspicuous in the absence of Spirit-MaxPax—the champions of the 2v2 circuit in 2025 and the clear #1 duo in the scene. The champions made their return in the Bonus Cup and reminded everyone they remain the team to beat, wiping out the competition and coming out on top (VOD).
