Welcome to the Patch General Discussion thread for the League of Legends subforum. This thread is for discussion around League of Legends and the most recent patch. Free feel to talk about anything LoL related here that does not already have its own thread. While posting standards tend to be rather lax in this thread, pointless spam will not be tolerated.

No more bonus resistances when Akali is in her shroud, but now whenever she stealths she gets a significant movement speed boost.
W - Twilight Shroud
NEW: NOW WITH MORE NINJA Twilight Shroud now gives +20/40/60/80/100% movement speed each time Akali stealths, rapidly decaying over the course of 1 second
REMOVED: RESISTANCE IS FUTILE Akali no longer gains bonus armor and magic resistance while in Twilight Shroud

Q - Flash Frost
NEW: STUNNING INDICATORS Flash Frost now has a cast indicator to show stun range
NEW: STUNNING CLARITY Flash Frost now has an icy cloud around its particle to show stun range (only the Anivia player can see this)

Azir
Passive - Shurima's Legacy
Fixed a bug where two Azirs were able to summon a Sun Disc from the same interactive clicker
Fixed a bug where other players were able to target the Sun Disc interactive clicker with abilities (e.g. Lee Sin's Safeguard) or were told they could click on it and then couldn't and then became sad.
Reduced the clickable size of the Sun Disc interactive clickers by 20%

Q - Conquering Sands
Fixed a bug where moving inactive soldiers into active combat range with Conquering Sands would fail to activate their attacks properly, leading to 0 damage attacks
Fixed a bug where Azir's sand soldiers would fail to cross a wall if they were just a little short of it

W - Arise!
Fixed a bug where multiple soldiers attacking multiple targets would often lead to soldiers incorrectly applying reduced damage. Reiterating here: this is a pretty big 'buff' fix.
Fixed a bug where dancing would break Azir's soldier's basic attacks

E - Shifting Sands
NEW: If Azir uses Shifting Sands on a soldier currently moving via Conquering Sands, he'll now join the soldier on a combined magical journey
Fixed a bug where Azir wouldn't shift to the correct soldier in certain situations
Fixed a bug where pressing E immediately after pressing W would occasionally not work. Feel free to W+E away now (or try W+Q+E for an even cooler combo)!

R - Emperor's Divide
Fixed many bugs with Emperor's Divide. This ability should no longer:
Deal damage multiple times
Multi-bounce targets
Pin targets to walls
Fail to bounce targets to the far side of the wall
Not break channels
Break spell shields and still knock enemies back

It is. If there is no crit the probability that the losing teams ADC does more damage than the winning teams ADC is roughly zero. If there is crit, even when the winning ADC has more crit than the losing ADC the probability is non-zero.

Crit will turn some fights that the loser should have lost into fights they win.

Crit also has the negative aspect of selection in lane (that is, if you get a lucky crit in lane you can choose to all-in/hard zone after this because the likelihood you will lose is exceptionally small. Whomever gets the first crit effectively wins the lane).

The 1% crit rune is a strong option for this reason. Suppose that you pick the 1% crit rune and your opponent does not. You're still trading relatively equally, equally enough that its hard to shove you out of lane on their .97 AD advantage. With 1% crit over 10 attacks the probability you will land at least 1 crit is 9.4%. Over 20 attacks its 18.2%. So if you take a 1% crit rune and expect to trade roughly 20 auto attacks in a lane you can expect that your 1% crit rune will flat win you the lane for free about 18.2% of the time.(supposing they don't have a crit rune as well, in which case its 50/50 for first crit)

Anyone else find it weird that Sion and Azir the 2 most recent developments seem to have clunky gameplay mechanics compared to some of their other recent releases?

It is. If there is no crit the probability that the losing teams ADC does more damage than the winning teams ADC is roughly zero. If there is crit, even when the winning ADC has more crit than the losing ADC the probability is non-zero.

Crit will turn some fights that the loser should have lost into fights they win.

Crit also has the negative aspect of selection in lane (that is, if you get a lucky crit in lane you can choose to all-in/hard zone after this because the likelihood you will lose is exceptionally small. Whomever gets the first crit effectively wins the lane).

The 1% crit rune is a strong option for this reason. Suppose that you pick the 1% crit rune and your opponent does not. You're still trading relatively equally, equally enough that its hard to shove you out of lane on their .97 AD advantage. With 1% crit over 10 attacks the probability you will land at least 1 crit is 9.4%. Over 20 attacks its 18.2%. So if you take a 1% crit rune and expect to trade roughly 20 auto attacks in a lane you can expect that your 1% crit rune will flat win you the lane for free about 18.2% of the time.(supposing they don't have a crit rune as well, in which case its 50/50 for first crit)

Crit is an exceptionally bad mechanic in league it absolutely should be removed

By this logic, why not 2% crit? 3% crit? 9 crit chance marks means that over 20 AA's you have an 83.6% chance of a crit.

the idea is to have access to the ability with 1%, the rest of the % are no longer gold efficient.
