The Esports World Cup has revealed the brackets for its 2025 StarCraft II tournament through its official website.

EWC 2025 consists of three tournament phases.

The tournament begins with a preliminary play-in stage, where the four players from the global qualifier (the "last chance" qualifier) contend for two spots in the main event.

The main competition then commences with the round-of-16 "group stage," which is essentially two double-elimination brackets consisting of eight players each. The top four players from each bracket/group advance to the playoffs.

Finally, the remaining eight players compete in a single-elimination playoffs for the world championship.

Nice brackets.

Know the usual meme is that Serral allways gets the easy way, but having either Rogue in a ZvZ or imo the best Protoss atm in Classic in the qualifying match is not a lucky draw :D

Will be great games!

It's almost certainly seeded based on Aligulac rating from mid-June (when all the players were confirmed). They didn't say this officially, but the match-ups line up perfectly by rating.
AdministratorHey HP can you redo everything youve ever done because i have a small complaint?

Ah yeah, that might be it.

How things can change in a couple of weeks,

We have Classic that are in great shape, Clem in good shape byt showing some vulnerability in his TvP, Serral we dont know since he doesnt show up to smaller cups.

22/7 cant come soon enough :D

Damn, I wanna see a Rogue versus Serral ZvZ!! Although seeing Serral go against Classic after the recent loss would be super interesting as well.
Maru versus Reynor could also be a banger.

All the matchup seems pretty “fair” and well balanced.

Only Maru vs trigger and hero vs lancer sticks out like a sore thumb.

The play-in in to get either Serral or Clem always makes me chuckle, so Brutal.

Looking forward to the games.
I may appear to be an emotionless sarcastic pos, but just like an onion when you pull off more and more layers you find the exact same thing everytime and you start crying

The brackets are very balanced much more so than in most world championships. Maybe the bottom one is a tiny bit stronger. Really whichever half Byun ends up in will be the harder bracket.

It's also particularly good for Maru, he has a very high chance of getting straight to the ro8. Especially if Shin beats Reynor.

Kinda weird that they're doing a third place match. Is this the first world championship with a 3rd place match for SC2? I guess it gives time for the finalists to prep which is nice.

I guess the player qualify from the play-in upper bracket will face Serral and the lower bracket will face Clem.

I think it is just a thing they do throughout the entire EWC. Every discipline has divided points between 3rd and 4th place, so SC2 had to do it aswell.
In general it feels like the Bronze-match has a bit of a comeback this year in other games aswell, considering that it was pretty much dead for the last ten years

The brackets look very balanced. im a bit sad for rogue, who has a very hard bracket :o

Shin Vs Reynor will be fun and beside it's a zvz, it is a must watch for me! Cure vs Showtime will be close as well, i think.

What's the reason the Play-in Stage exists as part of the main tournament?

The Playin-Stage awards 7500$ for the last place, I think the least the players can do is travel to Riyadh for that

Drama, make a "last chance" tournament, hype if someone from play-in actually wins a round, money

Well all the people that like to complain that Serral always gets very favorable matchups in groups/brackets definitely can't complain on this one could have to face Byun for first series which albeit isn't that bad but then either a ZvZ against Rogue or series against Classic who is in absolute top form right now for the potential qualifying match to the playoffs is without a doubt the worst potential 2 opponents for any player in their respective potential playoff qualifying match.
