Ever had a past thread from TL pop up suddenly in your mind that you wanted to see again? Ever had those elusive threads that escaped your best "Search Button" skills, or literally couldn't be found via search? If these apply to you, then you also probably know the purpose of this thread.
Basically, I want to use this thread to ask other browsers to help find certain threads from this site I can't find. I guess the best way to go about this would be to give: 1. Thread author if possible and 2. a short descripion of the desired thread. So...
1. A thread by Panorama. It was a thread that contained many songs, but I forget the idea behind the thread. I do remember it was many pages long, at least 7-8 pages.
2. I remember I found threads about the game F.e.a.r in the past, but I can't remember them. Search doesn't let you use periods, and "fear" returns too many results. Just about any thread on it would be fine.
As always, if this thread is doomed for failure, axe it and toss into the eternal junkyard.

It's probably best if you edit your post w/the link when your request is filled. Otherwise it'll be too hard to keep track of which ones have been found.

I see what you're suggesting, but I'd argue that it's even harder to search via google sometimes. The reason why I say this is because if I'm searching for a certain thread, I have to surf through a ton of other similar threads on the matter.
For example, the thread I just requested on self ban. If I type in "self ban" into TL google, it'd query multiple different threads that mention many self ban themes, but not the one I'm looking for. I do often forget to use the google option, though.

The way I found it was searching finals notepad. I just remembered that the op said this was a way for you to pass your finals, and notepad was the term in your question that seemed both uncommon and likely to be in the op of the thread.

I'd like to find a thread about something, I can't remember the name of it. Now maybe I am crazy and completely making this up. But I thought I saw a thread about some program where you can run SC in a window, so it doesn't take up the full screen. I thought it was called "mini starcraft" but I found that with search and that not what I'm looking for, it's a version of SC that takes less disk space. Anyone know what I'm talking about??

This is a feature of chaos...I'm not sure if it works on 1.16, not sure how much was updated.

Lots of detail in this general political thread, including some statistics and sources--maybe this is the one you remember. This thread about a Supreme Court decision is directly relevant. Also some discussion in this thread about a killing spree in Binghamton. This thread about an 11-year-old who allegedly killed his father's fiancee sparked a lot of discussion on the topic too. This thread about knife crimes in Britain has some discussion too, and there are others, but you reach a point of diminishing returns in terms of getting something out of each thread that mentions the subject: you already know the basic arguments. Probably the first two threads are the most useful.

Then later someone made a blog and mentioned he had resetted like 10 times etc and he was unable to climb very far. Was pretty funny because he was so confident

about a month ago someone posted in the Starcraft 2 forums (I think) a way to keep your computer from minimizing a full screened window whenever you click off the screen.
That is to say, when I'm running 2 monitors, I can have one monitor be full screened watching SC2, and on the other monitor I can be browsing TL.
In windows current form if you click on the 2nd monitor after full screening the first, it restores the stream to its original size.

I'm trying to find the "Greatest Hits" thread here. I'm ashamed that I haven't found it yet, but I cannot for the life of me recall the title of the thread. It was basically a compilation of the best threads and quotes from TL... and it saddens me that I'm unable to find it because I'm so terribad. =(

Hello fellow tl'ers i am in need once again. This time i'm looking for a thread that is pretty old. From what i remember, It was about someone who had to poo/pee at the same time and he was in a girlfriend's house or something. he then proceeded to pee in the bath tub and poop on the side of the bath tub on accident? he then tried to stick his penis in the toilet and pooped at the same time but some got on the toilet seat. Basically, I've been checking it out lately and I'm kind of puzzled how arbitrary it seems to rank people I know. It doesn't seem to be related to points, and even divisions and leagues don't really seem to matter, I'm hard pressed to find a pattern here. I've been on a winning streak tonight and I got a huge bonus pool and it does immediately record that my points are climbing but my world rank seems to stay around 2000 (which is just impossible, especially since it seemed to think I was in the top 3000 when I was still in gold).
So how the hell does it work? It is some huge buggy site whose ranking should be taken with more salt than Blizzard's own ladder and fish & chips combined or is there some ingenious method to its madness?

I thought THAT was the true limit. Anything above that was humanly impossible. The end. The end of multitask, the end of micro, the end of macro. That was the impression I had... But now, just look at Bisu... Jaedong... their apm? OVER 400. What's more amusing? All their teammates claim that all their movements are required movements. (Not spam) And I have nothing to say to that...

I was looking in the sports section but I wasn't able to find the thread. ^ bump, instead of spamming with a new thread. Here they are so that people get a better idea of what I'd like:
1) Ability to have BroodWar section appear on the side-bar above/before Starcraft 2 section (option checkable in profile).
2) Blogs section is filled all the time with a bunch of crap. I mean a ton of people talking about how they played 3 SC2 games and lost 2 of them. It drowns out the quality blogs people have spent time in (yo sup JWD) and IMO degrades that subform. I propose a new sub-form, a derivative of Starcraft 2 (or maybe not even) called "Progress" where people can, well, make the posts they spam "Blogs" with at the moment, about what their goals are, what steps they've taken to improve, and any status updates. It would be really cool with a nice time-line feature.
3) Ability to filter the streams list e.g. to only show BW or MISC streams.
I can't think of any others off the top of my head, but I'll keep you posted if any more brilliant-but-no-knowledge-of-feasibility suggestions pop up

ok i thought i was searching the "6/11 is not 50%" thread about mouse speed, but turns out that wasn't the one. The thread i am searching had a link to some file that fixes the mouse speed issue, all i can remember is, you had to select what icon size you're using (100% or 125%) copy the file somewhere and restart, bam fixed.
And i think the thread GGitsJack is looking for wasn't the one with the sky, but with some spanish city? cant find that one either atm xD

There was a thread about some hotkey setups a while back. I think it was old but recently on the front page. I can't find it. I think they were called optimus or something. There were several different versions based on whether you wanted to use the fkeys or the mouse or not. There was some info in the thread I wanted (I use that hotkey setup) and I can't find the thread. I used the search function.

It had a bunch of things that showed what to download to swap the unit sounds so everything sounded like brood war.
Where is the thread that was a discussion on deep, creepy noises coming from the ground itself? There was a video in the OP where it shot video of a building, and a very loud, deep groaning noise coming from the earth. The phenomenon was called "The 2011 sound phenomenon."
This isn't a thread but I am sure what I am looking for was posted at one time in some OSL thread. Basically, in the 2009 Batoo OSL, there was a video of Fantasy making fun of Jaedong by dressing up with makeup etc and I think he was singing. Now, I have looked all over the place for this video and I can not find it. Even if you don't know where this video is, as long as you remember it existing please tell me. I was really sick during the OSL and it was like 530 in the morning and I had pulled an all nighter so I think I might have hallucinated it.

I remember recently seeing a guide about a BC all in on close air positions in TvZ. It was quite detailed with many replays, and it was unlike other BC TvZ rushes for a few reasons.
1. involved reactored hellions 2. involved a heavy ground army, I believe I saw a screen shot with 2 BC and 2 tanks on the screen 3. It was most definitely an all in with SCVs getting pulled for mass repairs.

I remember there was some tournament around DC, and IIRC there was a scandal about a dude now banned from TL events who, after the tourney, didn't pay his share at a restaurant, then came drunk to another player's house, and then drove home without one of his friends who ended up either taking a bus or getting a ride from the parents of the guy who lived in the house.

The thread was titled something like "most ugly player of the world", and displayed a picture of the person viewing the thread, via lazy facebook coding. So someone would see a picture of themselves and believe everybody was laughing about that ... It was hilarious, but it escapes all my research!
Hi, I'm looking for the old korean caster's english subtitles threads for starcraft1. I did some searching and found hideosubs' site which was really cool, now just looking for more translated korean. also, star2 vods would be fine.
Someone from TL (NonY I think, or maybe Ret) once posted pictures illustrating the active areas on one of the larger 4p maps, pretty sure it was Alterzim but I may be wrong. He posted those pictures in several threads but I can't find them anywhere. Anyone know what I'm talking about and can give me a link?
Looking for a blog post by someone who talked about his experiences being/coming out as gay, specifically with his family.
He didn't have a lot of posts (I think less than a 100), and the only other thing I remember was that Chill posted in the blog "was going to delete this because I thought this was a troll post, but looked up your post history and read this post and it was amazing"
I just remember it being a really well-written and hard-hitting blog. I also think he had a silly/funny username?

Sorry for the necro all, but I've been searching for a long time for this thread on a discussion topic of which I forgot the name as well. Description is as such:
The thread was about the conundrum that scientifically speaking it is easier to send a projectile at near the speed of light than a message. A projectile moving that fast would be capable of destroying or at least seriously damaging say, a planet with an alien civilization. The question posed by this was that in the future would civilizations of the universe enter in a collective, intergalactic "shoot em up" where due to not knowing what the intentions of the other were the safest course of action would be to shoot them upon discovery, not knowing if perhaps they had already discovered you earlier and a projectile was already on the way.
Does anyone remember the name of this thread or perhaps the source of where else this discussion might have started? Thanks in advance.

What I'm looking for:
A thread about BroodWar custom AI, it was in somewhat of a teaser format and contained 3~ Youtube videos demonstrating AI micro moves.
One of these videos showed a whole bunch of mutalisks attacking and then dancing away from targets and was set to classical music. Its video title contained some reference to Jaedong. (Jaedong with a thousand hands?? or something to that effect)
I have a strong assumption that it would be in the BW General forum and presumably in the time frame 2008-2015.
Any help is appreciated, or any help in how to best use the Search function or other methods of searching.
