Pretty touching if I do say so myself.
Oh you did that too?
Good times good times.

Yes, I read the entire lore on some wikipedia side. Yes, I am a kotor nerd. Yes, it was fucking awesome and i don't regret any second of it. Though the good ending with raven x bastilla is still my favourite <3

+ Show Spoiler +The problem was that there wasn't really any good way to have a KOTOR 2 without Revan being involved in some meaningful way, and his involvement would change drastically based on the ending chosen for KOTOR 1. He had to be written out somehow.

if unbearably buggy means you reload maybe twice throughout the course of your playthrough.
it's less buggy than fallout 3, for example.

It's about time I play these games again thanks for reminding me. I liked 2 more than the first one but they are both awesome games.
I've never played these with the mods you linked here either so I'm pumped especially since the last RPG I played was DA2.
|
Wait... KOTOR is considered "old"? I know the graphics are a bit outdated and it was intended for last generations gaming machines.. but I never thought it was old. Hell in a lot of ways, KOTOR beats out ME1 (which came 5 years later).
|
Best twist in about any video game came from KOTOR. Props to this thread just based on that.
I would recommend Fallout 2 to the new generation as well, but it's just too old.

Tried playing this game but I wasn't feeling the combat. Are there any ways to make it more dynamic?

Thus the reason rpg's are turning into 3erd person shooters

I'm just gonna replay it because you told me to! =]

This game was seriously better then Mass Effect. I still think they are both good but KOTOR takes the cake.
|
I'll tell you what you should play , Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Fallout( 1 and 2) series , Planescape Torment and Arkanum. Those are true old school RPGs way more deep and complex than anything out today. There will never be anything like them because in the times we live, game companies dumb down and simplify RPG's so that mongoloids can play them . Really sad.

KOTOR is still 90% pure RPG while Mass Effect is practically a shooter with RPG elements. Obviously it won't be as complex but for what it is Mass Effect is great story wise especially. Even so KOTOR doesn't even come close to the RPGs I enumerated in the previous post. It's kinda funny that KOTOR is seen as an "old RPG" because in the end it's a cheap imitation of the true oldschool RPGs.There's nothing like them and if you don't have the will to play them because their graphics are " too old " then you aren't a true RPG fan. An RPG needs a good story and complex character development and gameplay , not flashy visuals.

You learn something new every day... + Show Spoiler [MASSIVE TSL SPOILER] +Traya was not always intended to be the only Traya and final boss in the game. Before the content was cut out, the choices the Exile made could have her or Atris become Traya at the end. Screenshots of Atris as Darth Traya in the official strategy guide seem to support this notion. via: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Kreia

Damn, your link was a trap!
I opened it (even though I already played the game several times) just to see if I had not missed some information and end up losing 3 hours.

At first I thought TSL was just a bunch of bug fixes and the re-addition of the factory...

Missed KotOR 1 but 2 is one of my favorite game.

Jade Empire, yet another lesser known bioware RPG that I think everyone should play =D Really wish more people played it

I heartily recommend this letsplay thread concerning kotor2: http://lparchive.org/Knights-of-the-Old-Republic-II/
it goes to great lengths to explain the themes of the game, many of which are sadly hard to notice in the actual game, what with all the cut content :<
