I'm not terribly interested in league lore or story, but the art and animation are easily top notch, and the overall story direction is 10000% about expanding and exploring the world and offering new insight into the characters that has literal nothing to do with LoL or how the game is played. It isn't trying to explain what summoners are, it isn't trying to justify why champions are champions, it's just telling stories in the greater league universe, and it does it -wonderfully- Just watch it. It'd fare well as a standalone animated show, and if the fact that it has subtle nods to game characters and mechanics appeals to you, it'll only add to the experience for you.

Sure, but my fear with non-game gaming media is that it'll try recouple it and do some dumb shit like explain why Summoner's Rift exists. As for Evilfatsh1t one of the few redeemable qualities of Riot in my mind is that they devote a fair amount of resources to art instead of more skins, though I still constantly fucking laugh at how terrible the league client is. It's kind of mindblowing that they haven't just made "LoL 2" or something and rebuilt the client from the ground up, but this is also the company that spent like 2 years hyping up new maps for League that just casually faded away, so at this point I kinda just expect Riot's actual games to just be okay.

It's kind of mindblowing that they haven't just made "LoL 2" or something and rebuilt the client from the ground up LoL 2 is a massive endeavor, but at this point Riot is accruing more and more technical debt that no amount of patching will fix (the client has never worked since the inception of this game). Just seeing the current spaghetti interaction with the order you buy items is enough to show that. Wild Rift is the closest we have to a remade game, I don't play it but my understanding is it's fairly bug free and cleanly designed. Maybe Riot could build it up for a few more years, and then use it as a basis for a PC version?

One of the most stunning things about it, was how patient they were with tying into the game. Like, I feel most adaptations would have VI in the gauntlets like 2 episodes in tops. They've clearly re-invested into the game.

My 4K disc of season 1 arrived just a few days before season 2 started and I binged the whole season again in a couple of days. I am pretty into nice picture and audio gear myself, and this gotta be one of the best demo disc there is. The audio mix and the visual is significantly better than the netflix streaming version, which was already decent. Last time I was this impressed is Puss in Boots 2. I am watching it on an OLED TV and there are moment I rewind just to enjoy the visual all over again. As for season 2, I was a bit worried it would have a slower start so viewers will take time to remember all the events, but very happy with how they went into it. What a show
