I think this man deserves his own thread. Elon Musk is engaged in very heavy warfare of lies and propaganda. He's spreading misinformation like his life depended on it. Since he's engaging in an effort of spreading misinformation on all global news, he's fair game globally, and that's why I'm making a thread just for him. My opinion is that this man is one of the most dangerous people on the planet right now. Easily top five.
He's now attacked Austria's "left" for being anti-democratic (because he has not the slightest idea how our governing system works). Why is my little Austria suddenly in his focus now? Because a fascist party came into power, and Musk has made a name for himself supporting fascists such as Trump. Obviously he would support the fascist FPÖ as well and thus he believes every lie that favors our fascist party.
It is standard information warfare. Nothing to see here.
information warfare has been happening forever. the leaders surrounding Israel won't call their nuclear arms bluff because they like having Israel in their region. It creates an enemy. All it takes is 3 million men willing to die for what they believe in and Israel disappears in a day. Its all BS. The leadership of the countries surrounding Israel want Israel to just keep on rolling along. They just won't say it. Its all BS.
Canada and the USA professed to be enemies of the USSR. Our lives were on the line. Just check out Ronald Reagan's "A Time For Choosing" and then later his "Evil Empire" speech. And yet, Canada and the USA propped up the USSR food supply via the "Wheat Deal". WTF is that BS? Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau and the evil communist Castro were buddies while JFK pretended to hate Cuba! LOL. Its all BS dawg.
Pepsi and Coke pretend to be dire enemies while top execs bounce between both companies. Sports teams pretend to hate each other.
we're arguing about the clothes!
What Elon Musk is doing has been standard procedure for centuries. Also, you're watering down the meaning of the word "fascist". If everyone is a fascist it loses its meaning.

Try not to stress yourself out about this stuff. We were supposed to all die from the atomic bomb. For many years it was 2 minutes to midnight. The powers that run the world want everyone afraid. I prefer to just laugh at it all.
@Jimmy The fascist party of Austria came into power because of lies. These lies are of the same nature that Trump and Elon Musk have been telling in recent years and especially during the current US election cycle. Fascists are popping off globally and Elon Musk is one of the most outspoken people in favor of them, donating to them, even being accused of committing a voting crime just recently. We'll see what comes of that. I think I'm well within my right to be freaking out about Elon Musk. This man is extremely dangerous, and this is very different because he has practically total immunity on his platform. Don't tell me what I should or shouldn't be afraid of.
I don't think some video about how 5 things Elon said recently are incorrect if you dig into the semantics, and/or you lean a certain way politically, does very much to convince anyone who isn't already convinced.
I found a video like this much more persuasive:
Dangerous or not I don't know, but the guy just seems like kind of a huge fraud.

If the mainstream parties had actually done something about the massive amount of third world migration maybe they wouldn't have this problem, this backlash.People are just fed up of the lies and the false promises.
Anyway seems the latest thing in Germany is a movement to ban AfD, which is clearly the wrong move.If AfD win a few seats they win a few seats. You have to accept the democratic will of the people in a democratic system otherwise you are the fascist.
People would have these views with Musk or without him, you're really overthinking this.
clear example why people without empathy cannot be in politics. his engagement in politics has been disastrous and horrifying. problem is he doesn't understand what he is doing wrong and will spend billions trying to prove that everyone else is wrong, which usually works.

Yes.. a fraud.. Wall street with their limitless resources to perform due diligence still invest in his company because they don't know what you know after watching a video you found on youtube
I thought his whole supporting of Trump act is because he wants to be made head of the department of transportation to pass some laws for Tesla and selfdriving vehicles?

And illegitimate frauds have a track record of making others money?
Musk has an advantage in that he has a huge ego and he's incredibly incompetent, so that's good. If I had untold billions and I was going to use them for evil, I probably wouldn't, like, waste 30 of them buying Twitter because I don't like how people are talking about me; and the way he's running Trump's campaign is fascinating, if Trump loses he'll certainly have a share of the responsibility.

If you want to say he's good at swinging his dick around in business and getting places with that, I'd probably have to give it to you. I'm sure Wall Street likes that, too.
The whole tech genius image is very fraudulent, though. Or maybe you meant his many claims about when full self driving would release that proved very truthful and not at all fraudulent? The robots at the latest Tesla event that totally weren't faked and obviously remote controlled? Wall Street agrees with me on that one btw, the stock price took a bit of a beating that day.
And on the topic of Wall Street, I think that P/E ratio of 65 versus an average of about 11 is pretty fraudulent, but maybe not, because you're sort of paying for the cult of personality along with that. Money does come along with it, after all. Along with fanboys to defend you on internet forums, apparently.

Theranos had a $10 billion evaluation, until it didn't.
Nvidia has a P/E ratio of 65. Another fraud!! Jensen Huang’s cult of personality. Can’t wait for it to go belly up with Tesla just like Theranos which was not a publicly traded company and not subject to the same reporting/auditing standards.

This isn't even a response, you just picked one sentence of my post and pointed out a different company with a high P/E that we both know is for completely different reasons.
But hey, instead of trying to pwn me with a zinger, why not just make a constructive post sharing what you like about him that makes you wanna sweat for him this hard? Is it just the money and business acumen? Someone in the other thread suggested his ditching fibreglass to go to steel was a genius move, I guess that's something?
Ultimately it's the requirement to support social hierarchies, really. If Elon Musk isn't all that amazing, then the social hierarchy that put him on top of us is unjustified, and it logically follows that conservatism is unjustified.

That's because you are in Australia, where stocks are traded like peanut in comparison. It's also why there's a housing crisis when housing is THE only real wealth grower.
You can call it a bubble but how would you even define that as fraudulent.
And no, the main reason why Tesla stock dropping, is because they are the market leader in EV and their profit is dumping, proving the entire EV sector are in quite a rapid decline, not just the small chinese EV companies that were already selling at a loss.
Gigafactories like Tesla are literally built for one purpose mass optimized production, over capacity is a massive issue.
Gotta give it to Apple for dodging this bullet tbh.
Every automobile companies wish they had a Musk to go unconventional in not just product itself but production and sales channel/marketing. It doesn't work 100% of the time, but a combination of good ones make it the market leader, by far.

I dislike when people try to argue about his companies and his professional competency when it’s obvious they would not be making these arguments if he hadn’t come out as a right winger. If he was a left winger that said all the right things about social justice issues then all the people trashing him would be kissing his ass for saving the planet with his electric vehicles and exploring the solar system.
Although to be fair the same is true for right-wingers that hated him when he was the electric car guy and now love him after he went full MAGA.
