you don't think it is incredibly bigoted and close minded to refuse to talk to a transgendered person unless it was about their own predicament as a trans?
yes it is an insult directly to your character

Just something to say real quick:
There's a difference between the terms male/female and man/woman.
This individual is a woman regardless of wether she was born male and regardless of wether she has been through a sex reassignment operation. An operation will change the main sexual manifestations, but she is still a male. Being born male doesnt necessarily imply living as a man, the same way as being born female doesnt imply having to live as a woman, its most common because of the way culture has dealt with it through history and they way it deals with it now.
She is a gorgeous woman. Its still very odd that we place so much importance on placing that tag so quick, for if we were to follow the issue through, we would find that these terms are very poor for the experience of being

This thread reminds me very strongly of the one about Caster Semenya. Now, I'm aware that the model (as far as we know) doesn't have the odd set of chromosomes that Semenya has, but there are some interesting parallels. The difference between "man" and "woman" isn't nearly as clear cut as many of us would like to believe and sometimes not even "male" and "female".

Why is it bigotry if he values people who value their gender?

this post reeks of ignorance on two levels
the first level is that you are implying that all he is doing is "valuing people who value their gender" when he is refusing to associate with or speak to anyone who falls outside that realm of what he considers the norm. that is what bigotry is. it is completely irrelevant if he values non-transgendered people or not.
secondly you are implying that transgendered people "don't value their gender" and everyone else does. this is wrong. gender is mental and if someone is mentally a woman but physically a man, the physical transformation from man to woman is done out of value of ones own gender.

No gender is not mental, you are born w/ hormones for your gender, males have male hormones and females have female hormones. Hey, aren't you that person who wanted to rape pokebunny too? I don't like your type of people either.

You can question the use of the current mathematical system, but you can't question 2+2 being 4. Similarly, if you have a Y-chromosome, you are a man, no matter how you look, act and feel, as defined by language and science. That is true, but why should we force it? What benefit comes from taking someone who emotionally, practically, and for all intensive purposes feels like a woman and force them to live their life as a man? What comes of that besides mental anguish, depression, and feelings of oppression? If this model wants to be a woman (a beautiful one at that) I'll call her a woman. Deep down I know what she is and she does too, but being a man isn't working for her. I'm not going to be the asshole that forces her to live in a painful reality when her fantasy does nothing to hurt her or those around her. It scares me every day that i might meet a girl who is a man whom i find attractive. .. reminds me of that family guy episode... srsly it's not right. Everyone has rights. but when it can hurt other people there is a serious problem.. Id connect sex with a transgender to the mental anguish of being raped by another man... srsly... It's not cool. It's deception... I don't believe in a witch hunt of any kind but this should be frowned upon and not encouraged. How stupid. If you had a loving relationship with a woman for 20 years only to find out she was a man at birth but had a sex change at a very young age you would really feel raped and disgusted? Nothing about the times you had together, her feminine charm, or the things that made you love her as a woman would count then? I can't relate to your way of thinking at all. I'm pretty sure any normal person is like that. Are you really going to spend 20 years with a man who claims to be a women, fuck him, and then think positive? If a man has a trans-op operation and becomes a woman, that individual is now a woman. Even the Iranian government thinks so. For an individual to have loved another being for 20 years and balk out of the relationship over the fact that his partner was originally born as a different sex is sad. You, who would also readily balk out of such a relationship is sad - as then, the love you had for the other wasn't a love for the person, of who they were, but rather simply of what they were - a woman. Such a love could never resist the temptations of infidelity - as one can always find others who fulfill the what. Ummm? Yes? You think someone is going to be happy being lied to for 20 years? eah, no. I don't like men, to me, a man who has a sex change operation is still a man. I would never even thinking about talking to a transgendered person, maybe to understand where they are coming from, but that's it. Call me shallow, idc, its my opinion. That tells me just about everything I need to know about you and the way you think. I said maybe just to understand where they are coming from, and that's it. And okay? So what if that tells you about how I think, is that suppose to be an insult? you don't think it is incredibly bigoted and close minded to refuse to talk to a transgendered person unless it was about their own predicament as a trans? yes it is an insult directly to your character I do think its incredibly bigoted and close minded, whats the problem? my opinion bro. Lol I'm glad that insult is only an opinion. I bet more people share my train of thought then yours. So, your bigotry (that you acknowledge freely as bigotry) is acceptable to you because others possess it as well?
I don't care if it is acceptable or not.

Just something to say real quick: There's a difference between the terms male/female and man/woman. This individual is a woman regardless of wether she was born male and regardless of wether she has been through a sex reassignment operation. An operation will change the main sexual manifestations, but she is still a male. She is a gorgeous woman. Its still very odd that we place so much importance on placing that tag so quick, for if we were to follow the issue through, we would find that these terms are very poor for the experience of being. I suppose you could put it that way. I'm still a bit hazy in using adequate terms when it comes to the issue of gender and sex.
My main issue with people like him isn't necessarily about what he thinks about transsexuals alone anyway, it is about him judging for what an individual is, not who. If you really look at bigots of any spectrum, you can readily see that this trait is common amongst all of them whether the object of their hatred is religious, political, social, cultural, sexual, etc. etc.

No gender is not mental, you are born w/ hormones for your gender, males have male hormones and females have female hormones. Hey, aren't you that person who wanted to rape pokebunny too? I don't like your type of people either.
Medicine disagrees with you. Even if its not the norm its common knowledge in medicine that people tend to associate themselves with a gender at some point of their life, and thats not always the gender they were born with.

What is important to someone's life differs from person to person. Sex is incredibly private and personal to many. I could love a gay guy as a friend, but the thought of having sex with him fills me with disgust. Most people wouldn't find that bigoted. Why should it be any different with transgendered people?
Yes, I get that someone born biologically male may see herself as a woman. I don't why we have to accept her own label of herself as a woman. Labels are subjective. People have different ideas about what it means to be a woman, and what kind of woman they want to have sex with. There is nothing wrong with that as long as you don't consider transgendered people lesser HUMANS.
So yes, I would feel greatly harmed if the woman I'm having sex with told me she was a post-op transsexual. I consider it my right to share my body with a person of my choosing, based on characteristics that are important to me.
