My Das Professional with blue switches finally died after a good 5 or 6 years of use. several keys no longer register every time I click them. I used to play a lot of SC2, so a full sized keyboard with blue switches made sense to me at the time, but now I'm just casually playing a few FPS games, plus I do a shitload of typing. What would be the best keyboard for me? I think I want a 10keyless, or 75% keyboard with cherry MX Red switches. -Don't care about price, happy to pay $200 since I'll use this thing 8 hours a day for the next 5 years -Prefer minimalist design, don't care about backlights or macro keys or USB ports or whatever. I'm also happy for someone to try and change my mind and recommend a full sized, or non-mxred keyboard if there's something about it making it significantly better for my needs. thanks for any help or input.

I'm using Filco majestouch red sw and definitely in love with it. I've used CMstorm blue and TTesport brown before. I think at the end, red sw is the best choice

I was looking for a board similar to this Coolermaster Quickfire Rapid TKL, MX Brown (which is listed by the OP) I'm looking to try browns and for around £70-100 max. I really want a "mini" board, something the size of the lepold FC750R: https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1566 is really the maximum size i'd appreciate. (Numpad is not wanted) if any of you have some super suggestions I'd love to hear them! =) I'm really stuck in what to invest in~

Filco Majestouch 2 TKL Cherry Blues with Liquid Ivory finish. Before: + Show Spoiler + After: + Show Spoiler + I want to buy some higher quality keycaps for this board though, can someone recommend me a set of black keycaps for TKL ANSI. I think I want to get the "A-Z" and "1-0" keys blank if possible, though i'm not sure if its possible to order those blank while still having print on the rest.

I'd give you a ton of links normally but really these are easily the best value out there. There are better caps out there, but really depends on how much you have to spend and what you mean by upgrade. For example these are twice the price but excellent quality. But in all honestly super thick PBT is only marginally better. I doubt the average person would even be able to tell the difference without both in front of them.

You can do that in ABS with a bunch of companies, most famously WASD, but if you want an upgrade go PBT. At a minimum doubleshot ABS, otherwise they will be the same. I came to that conclusion recently that without spending hundreds or waiting for month/years for a group buy, it pretty much comes down to deciding between the customization but low quality of something like WASD, or high quality but simple like the first link that you posted. Looking to stay under or around 60-80$~ for the whole set. WASD has the exact customization that I was looking for, and then some, but I heard that the caps are of same/or lower quality than the ones that came with the majestouch 2, which after heavily usage are already showing decent signs of wear after just a few months, which makes me really want to explore other options.

I did buy a coolermaster Pro-S tenkeyless but i kind of prefer the full sized boards mostly for the extra enter key but i appreciate the much smaller footprint. Also nice weight to it.

Unicomp only sells the detachable ones.Any solution? Unicomp does sell cables for that, they are just called attachable cable. Just make sure you talk to them first, it depends on the exact model you have. I'll also point out you can buy another Model M for 30-40 or so if you don't mind cleaning it up a bit, or 60-80 effectively brand new on eBay. My laptop currently has an FN key on the left, which pushes alt to this position. Are there any mechanical keyboards that come like this out of the box? Thanks. None that I've personally heard of. If money isn't a problem you could order something like a JIS Filco from Japan and swap the non conversion and alt with software. But it's not even going to be close to cheap (200+ at a minimum), and probably not what you're looking for anyway. It's true that Filco and WASD have effectively identical caps. Same plastic, same printing method, in the same profile. I'd still say PBT is the way to go and I still highly recommend those NPKC caps. As long as you stay away from pad print or lasered they take forever to start showing wear, some take years. You can do something else I thought of though. For ~74 before shipping you can get a DSA set from PMK in sort of what you want. You want to get the DSA blank TKL kit in black (NEM) then get the DSA sublimated TKL modifier kit in some color. GSF Grey is sort of close to black, but just remember the printing method they are using for this is black ink, it holds up very well though. The only thing I'll warn you about if you go this route is the site doesn't hold your hand in the slightest. Make sure you read the product descriptions for the set you want and reference the color samples. Otherwise you might not end up with what you wanted. pimpmykeyboard.com

For that I just want to buy from this page: http://pimpmykeyboard.com/dsa-pbt-abs-blank-keycap-sets/ and get: 1x - TKL Base Set Black (NEM) 1x - TKL Modifier Set Black (NEM) Correct?

But there's a lot of pros too, they are the main supplier for the group buys you were mentioning before. So you can always get a few novelty caps or a set of alphas/modifiers you like in the future without worrying about them not looking right.
