Meanwhile, CM Storm Rapidfires and Razer Blackwidows are selling for $75 on Amazon with blue switches.
As someone who hates spending money... should I give up on getting a brown, and just grab the CM Rapidfire with blue switches? The tactile feel of the browns without the annoying clicking noise sounded perfect to me, but if it's 40 bucks just to not have the clicking, I dunno if that's worth it.
BTW Newegg has a sale right now for 20% off Rosewill keyboards... their reviews are just negative enough that I'd rather not go with that brand though. Afaik the only problem with the newer Rosewills is the removable cable. So if you take good care of that I think its definitely worth getting a Rosewill. And get the switch type you want, you are spending a fairly large amount of money on a keyboard, make it something you are really going to like. Blues are a love/hate kind of thing, you really don't want to drop $75 on a keyboard only to hate it later. Rosewills have a squeaky spacebar and the paint on the keys peels off, at least for some reviewers. Since I plan to have a mech keyboard for a long time, I don't want to risk having one that will have no letters on it in a year. I was definitely thinking along the lines of "if I'm going to spend this much, might as well get what I want"... but then when there's a $40+ price difference between the standard blues and the browns that I want, that's enough money to make me reconsider.
Squeaky spacebar isn't a problem, just need some lube. Exact same thing happens with Filcos. Keys peeling is definitely a problem though.
Yeh saving money is a consideration, if you think you could enjoy blues then go for it.

I don't see the problem, its nice having a detachable cable for lans etc. I have 3 boards with detachable cables, and have had no troubles, nor do i see the downside
Recently Geekhack etc have been reporting problems with the removable cables. It is a possible failure point, but with good care it should be fine.

does the quick fire pro light up on all keys or just the important ones?

Quick Fire Pro only has partial backlights mainly on the left side of the keyboard. It's basically the keys most often used for FPS games.

Never heard of that brand....for me I feel that they are a bit pricey but I don't know if you're ok with the price for a Tesoro keyboard

If you wan't to know what keyboard is a keeper only thing i can say is: Filco!
But we all have different opinions. Is backlighting really that important?

PCCG stocks Duckys, pricey but an awesome range of led colours and switches.

You can't go wrong with Ducky. Ever. So I'd go with them

But its more expensive as well. They're all good choices. You would be happy if you bought any of them to be quite honest. Just make your choice on switches though, I think that's the only thing you really have to consider.

60% gaming 40% typing I think reds are nice. I personally think reds are nice to type on even though they are linear because they are much lighter compared to blacks. Too bad its too light for me hehe. In your situation now both reds and browns are suited for typing and gaming. I'd say browns are more slightly towards for typing because of the tactile feedback, and reds are more slightly towards gaming because of the linear mechanism of the switch

Get the CM Storm. Better quality than Ducky DK1087 if you want a tenkeyless keyboard.

Alright, thanks a ton everyone. Seems like I've found a decent choice

Can people here discuss for me the differences, maybe pros and cons or preferences between the Tt Meka G1 and the Steelseries 6gv2? they seem pretty comparable from my nubby pov so i was wondering what you all thought.
