is it worth having wired one for the extra 60+ bucks?
The filco is overpriced. Don't buy it from wherever you're seeing that price. I got mine for 119 SGD, which is like less than 100 USD

There is no better switch. Its whichever you would prefer. Ideally try them out first.

i was meaning like the closer resemblence to the brown. is blue or black more similar to the brown?*

blue is like a more noisy version than the brown and it sends the input before the key is fully pressed down

Blue is more similar to brown because both are tactile. Black is a linear switch.

what about the black? isnt that ok to use as a typing too?
|
black is awful for typing, stay away from it unless you play fps games on a daily basis

Its heavy and there is no tactile feedback. You can use it for typing sure (im typing this on blacks), but I prefer my blues or browns for typing and my blacks for hon/fps. But thats just my opinion.

what is tactile feedback?
|
It's like a tactile sensation that you perceive when a key is successfully activated.

On April 18 2012 13:38 Soliloquist wrote: what is tactile feedback?
You can feel the switch hit the activation point.

but its not that bad using th eblack to type at times too right?

I really want to get a nice quality brown switch keyboard, but it's so hard to find one without spending $120 or more! Meanwhile, CM Storm Rapidfires and Razer Blackwidows are selling for $75 on Amazon with blue switches.
As someone who hates spending money... should I give up on getting a brown, and just grab the CM Rapidfire with blue switches? The tactile feel of the browns without the annoying clicking noise sounded perfect to me, but if it's 40 bucks just to not have the clicking, I dunno if that's worth it.
BTW Newegg has a sale right now for 20% off Rosewill keyboards... their reviews are just negative enough that I'd rather not go with that brand though.

Afaik the only problem with the newer Rosewills is the removable cable. So if you take good care of that I think its definitely worth getting a Rosewill.
And get the switch type you want, you are spending a fairly large amount of money on a keyboard, make it something you are really going to like. Blues are a love/hate kind of thing, you really don't want to drop $75 on a keyboard only to hate it later.

Rosewills have a squeaky spacebar and the paint on the keys peels off, at least for some reviewers. Since I plan to have a mech keyboard for a long time, I don't want to risk having one that will have no letters on it in a year.
I was definitely thinking along the lines of "if I'm going to spend this much, might as well get what I want"... but then when there's a $40+ price difference between the standard blues and the browns that I want, that's enough money to make me reconsider.

Holy monkies. This place has an incredible selection of keyboards, all of them IN STOCK and reasonable shipping. Everyone needs to go to this site.
20 different kinds of brown-switch keyboards alone, include CM Storm Quickfires for $80, and the Quickfire Pro... Ducky and iOne for $80, Das and Tesoro if you want to go high end... half the stuff on this site is out of stock on any other site I've seen.
Excuse the spam but people need to see this site.

Althoug blacks are linear and don't have the tactile feedback and its heavier, I find no problem typing on my CM Storm wih black switches. You have to try the switches yourself to know if you like the switches or not

I don't see the problem, its nice having a detachable cable for lans etc. I have 3 boards with detachable cables, and have had no troubles, nor do i see the downside
