is the mx red bad for typing so e.g which switch would be better if iwas 60% game and 40% typing? brown or red? 60% gaming 40% typing I think reds are nice. I personally think reds are nice to type on even though they are linear because they are much lighter compared to blacks. Too bad its too light for me hehe. In your situation now both reds and browns are suited for typing and gaming. I'd say browns are more slightly towards for typing because of the tactile feedback, and reds are more slightly towards gaming because of the linear mechanism of the switch
thanks for your advice. from reading it seems that the reds have high sensitivity. me as a gamer/causual tyer love high sensitivity stuff (i run a 4000dpi mouse at the max mouse sensitivity on sc2) but i want a clicking noise to tell me that the key has been pressed(not a blue switch tho.. too loud for my preference @_@) does the red make a sound if it doesnt bottom out? (not like it matters because i bottom out anyway lol). how good is the red switch for double tapping?
EDIT: does ducky have the disable windowskey option?

It's been a real problem for myself and others in this thread to find the particular keyboard we're looking for. Suddenly there's a site that actually has the keyboards with the non-default switch types in them. Seems to be a good thing.

Just FYI, you can get 20% off of the steelseries 7G with code AX7G. Just saw it on Axslav's stream. Plus, it supports Axslav, one of the best streamers out there.

Update on my Meka G-Unit, the whites on the keys are starting to wear out already with one-week of use! My E key the most spamming Probes. For an $140 MSRP, this is very disappointing. I may return this and use the money to add to a purchase of a 7970 instead.
Another update: Just started happening today but it seems the keyboard keeps disconnecting, I got a lemon or something =(
Update 3: Nm, the plug loose =þ

Hey iwas wondering if getting a mechanical keyboard is worth it im currently using a ligtech k120 10 dollar keyboard for refrence will it really help my mechanics all that much?

There has been a discussion regarding the differences between those 2 keyboards, might have to look around for that.

If you want a clicking sound only blues have that. Reds are very good because of its linear mechanism like blacks. And depending on the Ducky model some have windows disable key option. The lower tier Ducky keyboards DK1008 and DK 1087 don't have that option, but the higher end keyboards DK9008 DK9000 and DK9008 Shine do.

No. When it comes to mechanics it really has nothing to do with the keyboard. The keyboard just makes your gaming/typing experience more enjoyable without fatigue for longer periods of time. It will help you execute your mechanics on a better level but knowing how the mechanics work is up to you, not the keyboard.

you will feel a lot more comfortable with a mech keyboard, and when u press the keys they will respond properly and (most of the time) not fail u. what u press will respond properly in game. the biggest difference would be u feel a lot more comfortable. and it kinda makes u feel imba? XD

Lol not that light. have u felt the Meka G1 or 6Gv2 before? imagine that but lighter. thats wat red switches feel like, which is why it feels pleasant to type on even though its a linear switch. double tapping would not be an issue with red switches

Buying a mechanical keyboard will not increase your game skill. Buying a 200 dollar keyboard will not take you from 10apm to 350apm. Doesn't matter what switches they are if you don't know what keys to hit in effective rotation.

For anyone interested, Superbiiz has the CM Storm Quickfire (10keyless, blue switches) for $63.74 shipped after coupon code HOMERUN. That's a pretty nice price for one of the better reviewed keyboards.
I've been searching for a deal on the Quickfire Pro (brown switches + numpad) but when the best price on that is $44 more than this one... I think I can't pass up this deal to hope for a sale that might never come.

like you rest your fingers on red and it registers? Yeah, that can happen. Red keys are really sensitive and a light touch could press the key.
It's all a matter of preference though. Some people hate the red switches and love the black ones, because keys that require more force = fewer accidental keypresses and fewer mistakes.
Other people think the reds are the only way to go for gaming. Different people have difference preferences.

not a huge difference except for having a longer lifespan and feeling nicer to use

Sorry to hear about this :O Ya some keyboards have bad etching....the lettering wears out after a short time of usage. My CM storm QFR is already blacking out on a lot of my keys from SC2 and regular usage. I plan on getting a new set of keycaps in the future....probably laser etched black-on-black PBT keycaps

I guess i'd wait with recommending a site before knowing if they are serious or not. For example how long it takes for your product to arrive, support and so on.
But aslong as they are serious i have no problem with anyone advertising them either. I simply just wondered if there were any possibility he worked for them. Wasn't anything mean behind it at all.

Ive seen the blackwidow ulitimate of Razor and felt it. I cant understand why people like it. I feels weird. A Zowie or Das keyboard looks more sturdy and better made. But this is just a personal thing.
And I like cherry brown!
