Carolina- rough road getting injuries to Cam Ward and Anton Khudobin (who i think is the better of the two) leads to a couple gimme losses with Peters in net who im not a fan of, or any canes fan really. Leading scorer Skinner is still out but could come back today vs Tampa Bay. Nathan Gerbe has been a surprise to me this season so far, being so short yet so scrappy digging for pucks and contributing 3 goals so far this regular season. It was a good pick up for Carolina to get him from Buffalo. Philadelphia- the biggest disappointment i have out of my 3 teams. With Lecavalier back in the lineup, and if Giroux gets hot, they have one of the best offensive teams in the East. However their problem lies with the forecheck and defense. I saw these guys while on vacation against Pittsburgh. They weren't finishing checks, let the Pens eat up clock in the offensive zone and looked horribly weak overall. Holmgren will have a good team in Philly in maybe three to four seasons if he can keep all the developing talent in Philly. But until then its a rough road to be a Flyers fan. Washington- Started not the way i wouldve liked with Braden Holtby playing like utter crap. but once he gets his shit together hes a top tier goaltender in the NHL. Ovechkin's hot streak to start the season with 10 goals doesnt surprise me. Mikhail Grabovski has been a nice addition hat tricking in his first game, however only having one goal since opening night. I feel if Mike Green can get his game up to par with a couple seasons ago. the Defense and turnovers could go in favor of the Caps and if Holtby stays sharp. they're a contender for the Metropolitan Division crown. Like i said, just my two cents.

About 3 minutes in he admits that he had to go and teach basic fundamental defence to the Oilers because the majority of the team had no idea what it was or how to achieve it. Yup, dude has his work cut out for him. i fuckin' love this guy. i could listen to him talk all day.

Lol, welcome to Edmonton. Oilers fans are the worst. Well, second worst if you include Vancouver. Seriously, like 2% of fans in Edmonton actually understand hockey, the rest are just embedded because it's a given part of the city's culture.

If you play in any Canadian city and your team isn't winning it gets pretty ugly. >_<

To be fair, at least with that quote, he's talking kids, and kids in general can get nasty. But yes, playing in a Canadian city is all kinds of rough, though American cities are just as hard, just not on hockey players cuz forever #4 sport in the US.

He's not saying its bad. he is saying you know what, if you are okay with being bought dinner and treated like a hero, you damn well better be okay with having them criticize you when you not doing well, because it is the same passion. I liked it.

Edmonton's hockey culture is moving at a extremely high pace towards getting rid of the "old boys club" mentality that the organization has had for the last 20 years. Basically we want Lowe replaced by someone competent, experienced and not associated with the 80s teams. The problem is at the top, not the bottom. You won't read that in the media though. You have to hear it from people in the city, at the games and in the bars.

I might be the person in Edmonton who legitimately has the Caps as their 2nd team
