SC2 is about 5months worth of WoW game time. And then you get to basically force players to keep their WoW account active saying "if you deactivate your WoW account, you will need to buy SC2 to continue playing it". It sounds pretty smart. I wonder why they didn't do it in other countries? Pretty much, stopped paying for WoW aswell when SC2 came out

We recognize many of you are interested to continue watching StarCraft I matches on TV, and as long as there is interest, we would like to see that continue as well. As GomTV is our exclusive tournament and broadcasting licensee in Korea, I cannot provide too many details about their ongoing negotiations other than to say that I am aware of the status of the negotiations and remain optimistic that these parties will be able to reach agreements that allow this to happen. Contrary to what you may have heard, it would make us very happy to see both StarCraft and StarCraft II matches continue to be televised at the professional level. These are both Blizzard games, after all. This brought warmth to my heart and tears to my eyes.

Your average TL reader is going to be up to date on the scene for the most part. One or two things might be news to you from this letter maybe not. This was directed to the whole community of SC2 and a lot who play it for fun or don't read a site dedicated to ground breaking news as it happens this is a very informative letter to help speed up people's knowledge of what is happening in the game or going to be happening. The whole BW fiasco of who is "killing" BW is the fault of everyone involved in the negotiations. Blizzard, GOM, and Kespa. GOM TV is their own company Blizzard doesn't own and is not calling the shots on the negotiations. Kespa is being stubborn and is not helping their image by shitting on anyone who retires/quits BW and goes on to SC2. Blizzard is also trying to demand too much out of an old game(Sell the broadcasting rights for a small fee and let it go, or show your commitment by sponsoring some events for it).

My thoughts exactly. Well said.

I will take Blizzard's sterile, indifferent response to a situation they can't openly talk about as opposed to the incredibly one-sided viewpoint you always read in letters from KeSPA.
