Then I realized everything is politics, PR, and ass-kissing. This open letter came immediately after the Mike vs Minister of Korean Culture mouthing off to each other. Mike is just trying to appease to their main audience - Korean gamers. In short, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Valve did it for CSS when DirectTV had their CGS program on. Unfortunately DTV doesn't know how to run a company.

Also, seasons... I'd like to see them be as long as traditional seasons. Would be interesting to have Fall/Winter/Spring/Summer seasons each year. I think four month periods are the perfect times for ladder resets.

" aha, like delaying HDH2 until GSL preseason 3 is over interesting way of supporte Amateur tournaments refers to tournaments where participants are not professional. I.e. having professional gamers like idrA and TLO competing in HDH2 disqualifies it as an "amateur tournament".

I'm excited about the new semi-pro/pro leagues too, makes it more apparent where you really are skill wise. The difference between HuK for example at the top of diamond and the average mid-diamond player is HUGE. Both should really not be in the same league :D

Sounds to me like we're just going to get a new Diamond league that most people get into eventually. well, if they are serious about this, then I don't see why this should be the case if we compare it to iCCup they could make it so semi pro league basicly resembles B- / C+ while pro is A- / B+ up....or something like that it will definitely be percentage-wise and not point-wise; currently, I think about 6-7% are in diamond; if the top 1% overall get moved into "semi pro" and the top 10-20% of "semi-pro" into "pro", then this could work, don't you think?

I would probably had kept my WoW account active if they rewarded me with a free SC2 for doing so. SC2 is about 5months worth of WoW game time. And then you get to basically force players to keep their WoW account active saying "if you deactivate your WoW account, you will need to buy SC2 to continue playing it". It sounds pretty smart. I wonder why they didn't do it in other countries?

Gretech doesn't want BW to die - keep up with the current negotiations. They've recently said all they want is the IP rights and an -extremely- small fee (considering the profits the companies are making). At the moment, it really sounds like MBC is the one acting out of line, and they're the ones paying for it. KeSPA just wants both MBC and OGN to broadcast it and Gretech isn't happy with MBC. Hopefully it will get worked out. On October 07 2010 23:48 Piy wrote: They don't really mean any of it though. They'd have made the obvious changes to Bnet2 2 weeks in if they did. Because it's easy to develop a shitload of content in 2 weeks. Seriously?
