The 2nd throne of the game has been claimed, by me (Jotunheim)! It's the Throne of Spring, which gives me 1 air gem/turn and allows me to hire Mages of Spring, giving me mages with 2 Air! Very useful for a nation who only lacks Air, Earth and Fire. :3 Gives me access to water breathing items, very good defensive items and powerful evocations. In time... The mercenary Obscuro, an Air mage, has been hired by me the previous turn, I don't think I've mentioned it though. No new mercenaries showing up, although Hannibal and his elephants are up for grabs, should anyone feel like outbidding Lord Tolkien on Caelum! As for provinces gained: Unbelievably, Abysia and Vanheim still mirroring each other, gaining 1 province each this turn! Ulm and Agartha finally diverging, Ulm gained 2 provinces and Agartha got 1. Caelum gained 2, Atlantis 1 and poor poor me got 0 provinces this turn. t.t Incomes still continuing as before, with the gap between the top nations and Agartha, Abysia and Atlantis ever so slowly increasing. Another happy turn for our friendly neighborhood Ulm, whose gem income increased by 3 this turn! Ulm's start with the awake rainbow pretender seems to be paying off, as their gem income is already more than double that of nations who haven't found any gem sites yet (Caelum and Abysia) As for other graphs, research going going up for everyone as expected, except for me, for me it was almost at 0 this turn (shhh! what could I be possibly planning? :D). Army size increasing for everyone except Atlantis, who seem to have taken quite a beating taking their province this turn. Let's talk future here: what can we expect to happen in this game soon? Well, Tolkien mentioned the Ulm rush many a time, and we might be seeing that in a few turns. Ulmish troops compose usually of well armored pikemen, who do not have shields, but they also couldn't care less as arrows aren't likely to penetrate their armor :D Most fearsome for the armies of men, as they have trouble hurting them with melee weapons, fortunately for me it's not as bad for giants. Future is quite hard to divine though. Many indie provinces remain untaken, so I think that we won't see any aggression between nations for quite some time. Caelum seem to be winning so far in the expansion phase, so perhaps the first aggresion will be by us against them, a proper dogpile. Or maybe Tolkien will manage to divide and conquer! Find out on the next episode of Dragonball Z!

And equal gold amounts of ulmish axemen go 50-50 with equal amounts of giants. All depends on morale. If the axemen dont rout essentially. If they do they get murderered running with slow as fk MS.

the manual seems to mostly be explaining how mechanics works and then just endless unit tables which are useless to me without a foundational knowledge of strategy. Theres almost nothing in there outside of the relatively short tutorial about strategy. No guides as to how the races play out in actual gameplay (or even descriptions of gameplay, just lore from what i can tell), etc. For example, I wanted to learn about how MA Ermor plays out, as far as I could tell the manual doesnt even mention that the faction is unable to recruit units. that is information that would have been good to know. Thumbing through it again there is a 10 page chapter devoted to talking about strategy of Bogarus, but i stand by my opinion that its fairly inadequate for such an incredibly vast game.

And I think all the other forums with major Dom subforums have their own set of guides. SomethingAwful most definitely has some, being probably one of the most active Dom communities, but I think RockPaperShogun does as well. Cant say about the other forums (Dwarf fortress forum etc), because they may not have guides.
