As hilarious as it is Artosis was prob better than him. Then u have ppl less known like Crayon who could play Terran much better than Hovz ever could despite it not being his main race, etc. Hovz was like low apm okay player, Terrible vs efficient Z and prob had an okay vs USA P matchh. I beat him in a wcg qual live using a mouse that wasnt even mine and felt horrible lol. i mean whatever this is like 8 years ago but i dont like to see someone like hovz get acclaim this way. who are you and how would you know i actually played against hovz a lot as well as most of other top foreign terrans and good korean terrans and hovz was very solid. it was just vs p tho cuz i was p so i can't speak for other matchups i guess i see nyoken posted, another pretty good usa terran player. though when i played id rate hovz higher but then i think nyoken kept improving and got better

I think he opened double gate, and said the reason some people thought PvZ was imbalanced was because they didn't get gas fast enough. He also said he liked to exploit little advantages. For example, if his zealot killed one drone he tried to make it a long game. I was a fan. I just read this interview with MotO http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=48737 Man I wish I was around for those days .

Not like you were any better back than Eric. A lot of guys could beat him easily back then. Not much of a feat. I would never compare players to other guys who quit long before they started to make waves like yourself. So there's no need to compare a guy like HovZ to guys like Nyoken, Rek, Froz, Whear, and Assem. Heck I wouldn't even compare him to Maynard, Zileas, Pillars and Tsu for that matter either. Sean started doing well in 2003-2004 and your home boy Dan was never that good. -_- The guy loves to fight. I compare them because they played in the same era and I view those players as being better than HovZ in that era. HovZ was good for his time but he wasn't a dominant force, that's all I'm saying. BTW, as far as USA goes, Dan (Artosis) who I believe you are referring to was the only player to compete in every WCG USA National Final every year since it began until he moved to Korea and couldn't attend anymore. I consider that pretty fucking good and extremely consistent. The only other player on that level of consistency of being a top USA player for so many years would be the other Dan (Nyoken).

I don't think anyone would say HovZ was a dominant force man. As for the WCG prelims and qualifiers. You and I both know it was a bit of a joke and poorly ran. Not all regions are the same for that matter either.

Last time I saw him was in Korea at IEF a few years ago and he was still owning up poker. Last time I talked to Assem, he was in grad school (which he is probably done with now), and I have no idea what happened to Froz. I think he was going to UCLA or something last time I talked to him. His brother was a decent War3 player from Northern California. If you ever want to know what happened to Assem, I am pretty sure Artosis would know. They were like best friends FOREVER.

I played up until SC2 came out and honestly was one of the best Zergs in america tho not very well known. I mostly just laddered neogamei/pgtour/iccup when i wasnt playin with my crew of friends. but ive played most of the top americans back then and i can tell you hovz was definitely not that great. an anecdote about hovz, after losing to me IRL he types "noob shit" in game and then gets up in the pc cafe and walks towards the entrance lol.. I was so impossibly nervous as well after losing to my friend Blind in the first round, it was my first live tournament in any game ever ahh good times.

It was a watch or something, I don't remember. Hovz got his AIM stolen. The guy asked me to do something similar. I msged rainkhan to confirm that it was indeed hovz. However rainkhan's aim got stolen by the same guy so he obviously lied to me saying it was really hovz lol. I didn't lose that much though so w/e.

I remember seeing your name here and there. There were lots of ladder heroes who never wanted to pursue BW any further than leisure competition. Another example was kickdog.
