Eclypsia is just a lulz team though, probably best for all of them to be moving on Kasparov said that women couldn't compete at chess. Then a Hungarian proved that wasn't really true and nurtured his 3 daughters into GM players. The reason you have female tournaments is to encourage female progaming.
I agree, but it should then only be allowed for women to attend, don't you agree ?

They should really consider disbanding now. I don't think they make any money with this and after all their "good advertising" noone will ever take them serious anyway.

I mean, really, who didnt see this coming? I bet the April fools joke about it being a shady team was the april fools joke.

WELMU PUT THE TEAM ON HIS BACK.

She beat Terious, Demuslim, Ddoro and Phoenix in bo3´s as well as kawairaiice and Avenge in bo1 and she won three female torunaments. Her fanclub has 3983 posts. Nestea and DRG combined won 4 GSL´s, 1 IEM, one minor MLG-event, one minor DH-event and were runner-ups of a blizzcon, the blizzard cup and 3 MLG´s. They got more than 300k in prize-earnings. Their combined fanclubs have 3953 posts.
So yes, she can be overhyped.

Definitely saw this coming. Good luck to the players.

A foreigner that (quite) comes out of nowhere and take a game from Oz (as impressive as the other victories if not way much more, though vs DeMusliM i have second thoughts about the regame) can be hyped quite a bit. And yeah, postcount just show that there was something to talk about.
Btw, i heard so much more about Scarlett during these IPL than i heard about Nestea or DRG, even though they had a deeper run (which is not surprising...) in the tournament, because that was expected, where her run wasn't at all.

So basically Eclypsia lied to them and considering the Dota post a few weeks ago we can see its not the first time Eclypsia have done this.
We really need as a community to get rid if these types of "esports organisation"
|
Really looking forward to deeper explanation of this by Desrow tommorrow/today/timezones are weird. If it's something as cut and dry as 'We're not helping you stay in/get to Korea, we want to focus on the European scene' then that's disappointing, and the worst case scenario doesn't seem all too unlikely considering the team's PR so far.
But if there's something more complicated when it came to changing minds - perhaps their (still unknown?) sponsor base wanted more Euro exposure and wasn't seeing the benefits of having people in Korea who seem stuck in Code B (but fingers crossed for Season 3!). Then it may be more understandable, however it would probably have been a better idea to find other sponsors considering the impact of this on the already low community opinion of the team
|
Sounds like Eclypsia wanted to focus more on the European market. Likely meaning those players move to Europe.
|
Eclypsia seems to have many many problems for a so new team, can't see them last very long.
|
Well let's not write them off just yet. They still have a strong French division that they can probably get around Europe, and as for the International division (a.k.a. Welmu) ..... well Meet.Your.Makers have been going for a while with just XLord, and they just teamed with MVP.
Still not sure why...
|
pretty crazy hope Artist finds a good home to go to hes prolly the best of the lot and i know he wants to get more into the non- korean scene of Starcraft 2
|
saw this coming after the fiasco with the dota team
|
not surprised after the fiasco on april fools.
silly teams will be silly i suppose...

Although fan club size does ot reflect hype or skill directly, you have to agree, that the dimension of these differences is quite magnificient. And if you define hype as the proportionality of attention and achievments (wich I do), she is definitly overhyped.
Please remember, I say "overhyped", not "overrated", which are completely different things.

How did I know that this was going to happen with Eclypsia. I knew something was up with them!
