Exactly, LR Threads/Liquidpedia/Coverage Portals exist for a reason. I really can't understand how people can be too lazy to click once or twice. Its not like you have to look any further than http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Main_Page and http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/index.php?show_part=36. Realise TL is not ESPN or the Sun, people come here for much more than to see AMAZING 3-1 plastered all over the front page. Hours have been spent on making threads dedicated to live reports of events and updating liquidpedia articles, honor their efforts by clicking at most 3 times.

Picture the difference between seeing that page and seeing a trophy over the winners head or their team throwing them into the air/showering them with champagne. I have to agree with Liquid'Tyler on the first couple pages, either you go and watch the vods straight away and come here or get spoiled (either you are dedicated and keep up or too bad). Every other forum should come after SC because this site is dedicated to Starcraft, news and the team Liquid.

It's akin to going to espn.com the day after the superbowl, and being upset that they have superbowl coverage everywhere, and the packers hoisting the lombardy trophy in the air with confetti everywhere. If you don't want to be spoiled, don't go to espn.com. If watching the game is such a huge priority in your life that you absolutely need to have it not spoiled, make sure that you make it a priority to go watch the games as soon as you possibly can, and stop doddling on websites instead of watching something you claim to be so important.

I personally think it's stupid that there's so much stigma about discussing (posting) results of tournaments on a website that is and pretty much always has been THE professional Starcraft (news) hub. Particularly because, in the beginning, people came here for that very reason; discussion of and access to Korean Starcraft results/vods/write ups and so on. Results, in and of themselves, tell you nothing about the quality of the games in question. Sure, for some people it can take away some of the suspense that builds when you know the final result, but not all of it. But if that really bothers you, and the result means so much to you, I don't know what the fuck you're doing wasting time browsing TL when you could be watching the game itself... I was out with my girlfriend at some boring party for her friend when Jangbi 3-2'd Fantasy in the recent OSL final... I was constantly checking the results on my phone all night. I think I audibly exclaimed when I read that Jangbi had won... And I STILL woke up the next morning, threw on the VODs and sat on the edge of my seat watching all of the games. Being 'spoilt' for the results took nothing away from that at all. Spoiler fear is dumb.

Or avoid the main page entirely, bookmarking their regular haunts. A fan already has the emotional investment to do the above, a 40 year old who heard about it from a co-worker does not. You have 20s to pique the interest in him. Turn his spark into a fire. Miss it and he'll be gone. NO RE. His eSports fan co-worker will continue to talk, but he won't bother any longer. Your one window gone.

Cool, but again TL writers don't finish their write-ups instantly. I'm seriously getting tired of posting this. Regardless of TL's spoiler policy, it'd be at LEAST a day before the TL write-up gets finished, edited, checked for quality and then finally posted. That day in itself is effectively enough time for people to watch VOD's, so even without trying to stick to a spoiler policy it's already done. What exactly is the reason for trying to disregard spoilers in the first place if what you're asking for isn't a result of spoiler fear but rather lack of manpower/time?

The tell your friends thing is a major problem too aside from the hype. It's hard to expect your more casual friends to navigate the threads hidden amidst very large amount of texts. That said, hopefully those who depend on VODs and want to avoid spoiler of all costs will not get pushed aside should TL decide to get rid of spoilers.

You are right, time constraints aside, the point stands. That's why sports editors have their writers prepare four articles for either winner. Two per winner, one for demolishing finish and one for upset finish. Then when the results are in, stop the press, insert article and resume. Looking at the News, there's nothing revealed. Why should I care about IPL? Why should I care about tournaments? As you can tell, I am not big on tournaments. I feel I haven't missed out on anything. No one has made me care. Aside from Husky and Day[9] but even now they have stopped talking about it other than exciting, which got boring. So now I stopped caring, its just another gig where they vanish for weeks. See the emotional detachment? See where this policy of spoiler has created this little boys club, no casuals allowed atmosphere?

But the same applies to most SC viewers. Look at the viewercount Husky and HD get. Look at the average ranking of players on Battle.net. There really isn't anything to indicate SC viewers are more observant than viewers of any traditional sport. There is a reason that the situation for e-sports is different from sports. Physical sports aren't nearly as depth-dependent as strategy games. Most joe-schmoe sports viewers don't know anything about the depth of the game and don't really care. They just watch it to watch it. They know what a good play looks like, sorta, but that's it. SC2, on the other hand, is extremely reliant on the games themselves. Results aren't the punchline. Take the recent Stephano performance for example. His actual gameplay was much more important than the results themselves. Because of this, a lot of people make sure they watch the games themselves. If someone misses a basketball game or a football game or something, it is a lot less important to watch the games. And people do stuff like watch highlights, lol. TLDR: The sports community is more fickle, cares less about the depth of the game, and takes it less seriously than the SC2 community. There are already spoilered threads to discuss the games in, so I dunno what you're even talking about.

Also most people who come to this site don't just come to check results of tournaments, so implying they shouldn't use TL until they watch every single game they haven't caught up on is silly. You can easily bookmark TL away from the homepage and even avoid the tournament/featured forums (in fact you can now minimize them if I'm not mistaken). I almost never see the TL home page because the bookmark I saved is just a search for my user name. Also, If you care that much more about spoilers over talking with the community without being spoiled then just go watch the vods or whatever before you come, its pretty simple.. PS- It absolutely annoys the hell out of me when I DL vods and I have to either DL worthless spoiler vod games of a set or I have to uncheck their DL every time. I literally don't give a shit if I'm spoiled. I cater to you that do, for the loss of seconds of my life every time I DL (I know this is one of those 3rd world problem pics type of thing, but it's just something to think about). And same thing clicking spoilered threads where I have to click the little hypertext every time.
