Yes... I cannot tell my >2000 castle age friends about SC2 and TL.net because of this. Because they go front page and see what, a crying Protoss, a guy with the huge check frowning... That's it. Average Person does not give a fuck about your sport until you give him a reason. (winner/hype/etc)

It doesn't make sense. Judge the community on its own merit not by how close it is to another sport. With that out of the way, I still watch a good game if it's been spoiled, but it has to be a really really good game. Part of the fun is not knowing how someone will do and seeing how the game plays out. Completely agree. Finals of major tournaments get 60,000 viewers. The Super Bowl get's 30 million. That's .002% of the viewers. Comparing esports to real sports at this moment is illogical. As to the spoilers, I watch games mostly to learn and improve. I focus on the gameplay, the results don't affect my viewing at all.

I know the first thing I do in the morning after a big night of GSL, I check the results and if I have time I’ll watch the games, knowing the results beforehand won’t change my excitement about it. Are you serious? You compare Starcraft to the NHL or other professional sports, but how many people DVR the Superbowl, go look at the box score, then watch the game? The drama of seeing who pulls out a win in a close match can be one of the best parts of watching Starcraft. Not to mention there arent 25-30 NHL or NFL playoffs each year like there are with the GSL (Add in the IPL, NASL, MLG, Dreamhack, etc.), people simply dont have time to watch them all live. I don't want to have to avoid TL until I have time to watch every game of the best of 9 GSTL finals.

![]() I think the "recent SC2 results" is fine.. no need for it to be on the front page.... not every one can watch live and may want to avoid spoilers

And how exactly does the number of viewers differing invalidate the argument? It doesn't, at all. There's no reason to be ashamed of and push all the results under the rug because a very, very small minority of people doesn't want to know the results of major tournaments.

If you don't want to be spoiled, then find your own way to watch them without seeing the results. Once again, because it appears no one reads past the first post anymore, this would not change regardless of TL's policy for spoilers. TL writers are volunteers. Many of them are at the very events we watch, and even if they're not, write-ups take time. They're not done an hour after an event, and when they are done they're sent in for editing to see if it meets TL's high standards. By the time this is done it's usually been a few days, depending on who's available, because again these are mostly done by volunteers. It seems to me you guys are complaining more about the slow headlines rather than the spoiler policy, so I'm actually a bit confused. TL Staff already knows how to make engaging titles without spoiling the results, and even put's spoiler warnings in the OP.

Having instant post event results with hype and whatnot on the front page would be amazing (read: normal for any other sport). Also, how dumb is it that "winner interview" threads have to be spoiled inside the thread "winner of match x vs y" wtf man why the hell did you click on the interviews if you don't want to be spoiled. The question with the landslide results will now be, is anything going to change?

I agree completely, huge tournaments should have live coverage plastered all over the place. If you don't want to get spoiled, don't log onto the site until you've watched the games. Otherwise let people discuss and cheer!

Instead people feel like it spoils the fun of watching all the games? I guess it doesn't mess with me that much...either I'm interested enough to watch it live or I'll watch the games later even if I saw that so and so won on my twitter feed. I feel asleep during the OSL Finals and even after finding out who won when I woke up I went back to see the 5th and crucial game. Sad thing is that you can't make everyone happy and everyone loves to be spoiler free around here, so I doubt anything will change.

Is seeing the results live not amazing enough? If you have to see a picture of the winning player of the most recent major tournament on the front page of TL, then YOU are hurting e-sports.

Today, I went to gomtv to watch MVP vs. Nestea and the result was spoiled by the front page announcement of the upcoming semi-finals match. Instantly, my excitement was gone. I'll probably still watch the games, but they won't be anywhere near as fun or intense now that I know who won. What. The. Fuck. Seriously. You expect a news site to cater around your work schedule? Hell why not since TL caters to someone's annual sabbatical in the mountains since the whole year I've found TL, I have never seen anything remotely resembling news besides New Terran Unit revealed. I only got excited about GSL because Husky was excited and... That's it. Seriously what's the big deal with IPL and Stephano? Do you see Why spoilers are hurting eSports? There's nothing to be excited about!!! Why? Because I don't see anything to be excited about!!! You are a fan, I am not. In order to grow eSports, it is your JOB to make me a fan, to wear your team jersey, to stay up til 3am by the PC linked TV with you drinking beer and pizza. Until that time, eSports will forever be small time (compared to NFL, NBA, EPL, etc)

TL makes a separate portal for huge ass live coverages and let's people discuss them,I just didn't notice that was the reason why TL has a separate portal until now. http://www.teamliquid.net/ipl/ Now look at that page, you get all the results up to date there without people wo go to the main site getting bothered.
