This thread is for discussing recent bans. Don't discuss other topics here. Take it to website feedback if you disagree with a ban or want to raise an issue. Keep it civil.NOTE: For those of you who want to find the actual ABL thread where the bans are posted. Please look in here: https://tl.net/forum/closed-threads/ |

I'd like to submit a fourth option. You send a few pm's arguing with them like a twat, even though it's a warning and it shouldn't bother you that much.
Sorry to all the people that have warned me.

Well, even there, it's a victory for the mods, and not for you. My point stands.

I've always kind of felt that posting here is more of a temporary privilege and that if you post sufficient times, you're guaranteed that eventually a mod in a bad mood will read your post and ban you. This is particularly true if you have an opinion about something that is in general disagreed with - for example, if you disliked tastosis's casting, you can't really post about it on TL.

Somehow I'm utterly shocked you've been here even less time than me, which is saying something.
Yes, posting is a temporary privilege, but on the reasonably rare occasion that the mods make a human error in judgement, it tends to get overturned. And saying that is, by nature, pure acceptance that no matter how much I think those people deserved it, my moddings were justified.
Disagreeing with public opinion is fine, if you can do it without starting a fight, in an objective kind of way, at a time that the very existence of criticism doesn't equate to starting a fight.

I believe you can say anything you want in a post while i don't speak for the staff, its more the attitude that is unacceptable.
Ex. Tasteless uses the word timing attack to describe every time someone moves out. + Show Spoiler +I really do love tasteless tho seriously hes my home boy <3 EDIT: ninja'd and out articulated ;p

I think you have it backwards. It's not that eventually you run into a mod in a bad mood, but that you eventually make a post that is bad enough to warrant action.
And you can post about not liking Tasteless, I've seen it plenty of times. What you can't do is post it at every opportunity or say something like 'ok turning off the stream now' when they come on.

Eventually make a bad enough post, or eventually stack enough mildly or moderately bad ones together to earn one. My temp was more cumulative than related to specifics.
But good point.
Waiting to read a specific one... if you can read my mind, is it reported yet?

I don't think so. You're more than welcome to provide a dissenting opinion, as long as you do it correctly. In that "I don't like Tastosis" example, there are plenty of ways to express your dissatisfaction. Of course, you'll get nowhere fast if you blindly shit on them/provide no explanation. However, there's nothing wrong with constructive criticism. Something like (for the sake of example, the scenario below is not factual, and doesn't represent results in the GSL):
"Sometimes, I feel like Tasteless is too much in agreement with Artosis in terms of analysis. He doesn't really seem to have his own take on a matter, instead siding with Dan the vast majority of the time. For example, in GSL last night, during Game 2 of MVP / NesTea, the engagement that occurred at X time was an obviously poor move by MVP, and for whatever reason, Artosis deemed it favorable for the Terran. Instead of really thinking about it and realizing that MVP's Thor was easily sniped by a group of Roaches that caught it alone, and that two tanks were blindsided by Baneling drops that could have been killed beforehand, Nick just agreed with Artosis. I think this issue could be remedied by doing Y."
Critical, yes, but done in a respectful and intelligent manner. That is acceptable.
Also, take a look at TL poster Hyde. More than 8k posts without even a warning.

I'd just like to say that for some reason at this point in your post I started laughing uncontrollably. In fact, I'm laughing right now. My roommate is giving me funny looks. I can't stop. Oh lord, I can't stop. It's the mental imagery, really.
All that being said, TL welcomes dissenting opinions. AE-Dawg is basically right here. In fact, if you respectfully are not a fan of tastosis, you won't get banned, whereas if you express your opinion in an acceptable context and someone brashly starts flaming you in tastosis' defense, that person will certainly get banned, and you will not.

Naw its just I feel bad because I don't like to shit things up and if I do get warned that means I have at least inadvertently shat some things up
