Hi fine TL's.....take a seat and let me show you one of the more distrubing things to have been broadcasted on Korean TV lately
This is arguably the worst piece of trash that I have ever seen...and to be honest it may seem comical but older generations of koreans take everything they see on TV as fact...therefore creating negative images of us foreigners.
I live in Korea so these kind of things make it harder for us to make a good name. I'm not saying that all Koreans believe this, but even if there are a few it's pretty darn bad. I already live with the staring, random abuse from drunk people in family mart...but it makes me laugh that they make foreigners look like sex hungry maniacs when there are thousands of sex industry places scattered across Korea. Dabangs, Gayobangs and the Jeomcheons of Korea (a city famous for its redlight area)
It is somewhat a legitimate issues that not only happen in korea, but also in several Asian countries. The girls tend to prefer to have relationship with foreigners (for different purposes). As the guy in the video said, they tend to be quite rush in developing relationship with foreigners so it can lead to several issues such as HIV or scam which is the opposite with having relationship with Korean guys in which they have more time to figure whether the relationship is worth it. I don't think the purpose of the video is about bashing foreigners, but rather spreading awareness about a legitimate issue.

Do you have any evidence for your claims?
I live in vietnam, and it is a legit issues here. You can do some research about it if you want. I cbf looking it up.
Being a American male, who is dating a Korean woman I find this silly. I think there are silly things like this all over the world though. It's just another one of those things where instead of being responsible for your actions you claim to be a victim. It's pretty stupid but I don't really have much of a problem with it, we have stupid things like this in America too. Not quite that bad, but similar.

So it's a legit issue because you watch the news or you've actually looked at some scientific evidence? Which one?

wtf? Scientific evidence for what? That's a freaking major issue that almost everyone is aware of in vietnam, though it's not as bad as it used to be since people are now more aware of it.

if you can't cite at least 5 academic papers detailing the issue at hand then you have no legitimate right to state any kind of position. basically, you're a bigot.

Scientific evidence for the claim that you've made. Have you looked at any or do you just watch the news?

-_- How about I actually know a person who is a victim?
Holy crap this is on a whole new level of Dave Chapelle-style racism. (That was so racist I can't even get mad!) As if the Korean women can't make their own decisions on who to date and who not to date. Come on people, this is just silly...
The thing is that the documentary isn't completely untrue. Certain types of Korean women are easier to date as a Caucasian, and many Caucasians know and take advantage of this. If you like the nightlife in any major city, you may find that exchange students from Asia are relatively easy to approach as a Caucasian because of their inherent curiosity of what is unknown to them.
On the other hand, this documentary should also open up Teamliquid, which generally sees Korea through rose-tinted glasses, to the prejudice that is quite the norm in Korean culture. In many aspects of their culture, when criticism is raised, it can be unrelentless and not altogether reasonable.
I can't post a source because what source exists apart from social experience and knowledge?
Just my opinion.
Edit: the shammy way they did the documentary is not uncommon for these types of shows in any country that I know of
