Ive seen this game in my battlenet launcher, as well as some streamers playing it and thought it deserved its own post! Really curious what everyone's thoughts are on this and if it might be worth a buy.

I'm hearing that it's a game with good world-building and writing, rather polarizing combat (seen some people say it's good and some people say it's very bland), and a metric crapton of brutal bugs so much that people like Luke Stephens say they had a good time with the game but they had multiple instances of corrupted save files etc.
Also it's 70$. Seems like you could wait for it to be 'finished' and go on sale.

I'll probably get around to this at some point. I have generally enjoyed the Obsidian Entertainment games I have played. Never the most engaging game play but often solid enough to be carried by setting, cast and stories.

I love Pillars of Eternity and think Obsidian have made some bloody great games, so a mashup of them working in that setting doesn’t sound too bad to me!
Dunno if I’ll fork out the 70 dollars but I think this one is on Gamepass unless I’ve been mislead there

I've seen it in Gamepass and pretty sure they said they will release day 1 in Gamepass. Also if you are a WoW addict and somewhat succesful there you can pay the game with WoW currency of some sort.
For me it's one of those "if I find the time"-games. Right now I'm playing KC:D2 and after probably Monster Hunter.

How's Obsidian storytelling these days? I remember Pillars of Eternity 1 sounding really awesome on paper, but it never really clicked for me. There were a lot of made up words about really cerebral stuff brought up and then forgotten again, but it never seemed to figure out what it actually wants to be and just seemed to fill in the checkboxes they promised in the kickstarter campaign. I don't think I remember a single line of dialogue or that many interesting character moments or so. Some of the lore is potentially interesting, but rarely connected with the rest of the game.
The encounter design also seemed to be pretty repetetive, I think I figured out some mechanics in the final boss because it was one of the very engagements where the enemy wasn't just a big blob of mob.
Did they improve in Pillars of Eternity 2 or other games or is Pillars of Eternity what they're still doing?

Started Avowed in game pass yesterday. First two hours were fun! Quite fast paced action heavy. At least when you are coming from KC:D2. Can't say too much yet but it looks like a game I'm going to enjoy

Well, I was wrong. After playing some more I noticed there is a lot of micromanagement with Companions and even a pause/ tactical button. That's not my cup of tea. Ah well, on to the next: Monster Hunter Wilds will be out in a few :D Maybe thats more up my alley
