Guess in a few months we'll never see PartinG in anything ever but SPL sometimes, OSL and maybe WCS.
I'm not too sure if this is true as KeSPA teams let their players do the MLG and other foreign tournies don't they?
And on another note I think that either KT or SKT will buy him just because they have the ability to do so. KHAN wouldn't be a bad choice but the boys in blue aren't performing as well as they could be right now.

You must also don't understand how NBA draft works too. Need to watch some sports, you. Never seen NBA draft with one player, sorry. The thing that I don't like is the fact that KeSPA doesn't care what the player wants. For example if KT and T8 bid for him, then why don't let PartinG decide where he goes ? Why is that random draw needed ? Offcourse kespa cares. Thats why he already have a deal on his salary. After that, kespa will care for the balance of teams. Do you realize that all teams that bid for him are equal in the draw ? Then how exactly are they achieving team balance ? They are doing nothing more than taking away from the player the ability to decide his own fate. For example : Let's say that all teams bid for PartinG and he ends up in SKT1, but he wanted to play for Woongjin. Did they achieve balance ? Nope. Did they send him to place where he doesn't want to be ? Yup. Who wins ?

Doesn't that seem a bit.....easy? Only if they have their contracts expire. Parting's contract expired at the end of the year. Also dislike that multiple bids results in a random drawing. It should go to whoever has the lowest ranking at the time of the 'draw' (so Samsung in this case). He better go to KHAN, they have always been my favorite team (BW: despite how little I was around for, even if EG-TL has a special place in my foreigner heart). I couldn't take seeing PartinG wonwonwon KHAN lol.

Maybe people from the US don't feel that way because they have similar situations in their real sports with all this "drafting" stuff but as a European I really can't understand how somebody can agree to a contract where other people are deciding about his future and basically chosing what will be his new home and his new mates for quite a long time. It just doesn't feel right at all. from my understanding, looks like no team contacts PartinG directly, so he expresses his will to KeSPA. KeSPA arranges salary and terms with PartinG and asks if any team can afford him. Fair 'n square.
However, what if no team bids? Normally that unfortunate player would return to the old team but this cannt applied here

I was thinking about how awesome this would be the other day, as it's kind of letdown sometimes when players go for foreign teams and drop off due to too much travel or not enough practice time. I wanna see what Parting looks like at his absolute strongest.

SKT gonna pick him up so he can teach Bisu and Best :D
|
Whichever team takes him just had their SPL winning chances improved a whole lot!
Would be good if he went to a mid table team, so he could bring them to compete against the best

This makes me a bit sad, but I hope it works out to be the best choice for Parting

ah, i understand. probably has something to do with this asian cultural thing, where community > individuals, whereas in the west we have a culture focused on indivuals (thats why football is so single player focused, even though its a teamsport)

Nooo PartinG, whyyy? Why did you have to join the dark side? At least do it properly and join EG! (that would be kinda cool, imho)
Him leaving ST was sad enough, joining a KeSPA team is a bit of a dissapointment. But oh well, if thats what he wants than all the best for him! Lets hope he will enjoy a similar level of freedom in competiton as he had on Startale, and that KeSPA wont pull a "kespa" on him for their own politics.

This seems a bit weird. Parting does not really decide on what Kespa team he joins. He just joins a Kespa team and it doesn't matter to him which one? It just sound not really committed to a team. Most people join a team because they like that particular team, but Parting seemingly has no preference, or at least his preference is ignored? OK!
This is big blow to ESF, losing one of their most successful players from one of their most stable teams. I am sure more players will join Kespa in 2013 too.

This is common practice in a lot of leagues and sports around the world. I don't really understand what the controversy is, do you follow any other sports or understand how some drafting and trading systems work?
edit: To add some other insight, this is the price you pay when you want a standardized league that is able to offer livable salaries to players. If you want a single team to be able to buy out every star player you will create quite the disparity for other teams.

no, for us europeans its not that clear. sports in europe does not work like that. hell even if you apply for a job you have usually to answer questions like "why our company, why exactly this one position". you have to choose, you have to tell them why you picked their company over another competitor, etc.

I follow football, rugby, Formula 1, tennis, cricket, golf, athletics and cycling and none of them operate in the way you claim is common practice. Maybe American sports operate in this fashion but I don't follow any of them.

Can't say I'm a fan of this move, especially because it pulls a charismatic player out of the tournament circuit for the most part, no Proleague until round four, only IEM next week and from then on just GSL until he gets knocked out.
Sucks that he can't even decide on the team/teammates he wants to live with himself, but if PartinG was born to join one team, it's the team with soul in its name.
