Ulterior motives? You mean money? Are you suggesting there is something wrong with that? Interesting.

Anyhow, I just wish they offered per month, but I'll probably end up paying for it in the end.

Higher quality stream, good time, good players. What more can you ask for? How about live casting of the best players playing in a lag free studio environment, with a live audience. Like, you know, the GSL? Pretty silly question.

But who knows about the NASL guys?

Get the viewer hooked. The first ones are for free. When they know what it's about, they might just come back for more. With the prize money it could be an economical question but having a first couple of seasons for free might just make everybody look, not just those fans who pay for something without really knowing what's coming.

More reason not to judge until we actually see what they have to offer. People were saying the exact same thing when they heard GSL would charge money. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=149284 Look at the pools' numbers, it's pretty ironic isn't it?

There is zero percent chance I will pay $25 for this, even tho I started paying for GSL. It sucks because I won't be able to watch them live ![]() mlg has a lot less consistent content. you're really not making any points besides you think other nationalities should pay for an American event, which, obviously, is a terrible argument.

My connection is good enough, but GSL first seasons i could never watch the HQ stream because it was lagging for me (I'm on a 50mbit up/down optic fiber line).

I find it interesting to see there's people screaming "do it for eSports", "you have to do this", or similar statements. Weird. If you wish to imply there's a need to give it a chance then it feels plain wrong. It feels like there's this must to invest, else it will fail. That implies a risk that even those who invest now can see the product fail miserably. I am not saying this is the actual case for the NASL, but people bringing up those arguments are shooting themselves in the foot. If you're screaming such things to convince others, try changing strategy. Explain people your passion for this game/league/eSports. Don't go all fanatic "YOU GOTTA -- ". No, I don't gotta nothing. Perhaps it's just my feeling and observation, but it feels way too forced for me. I am a casual gamer who loves to see top SC2 play. However being casual as I am, I mostly enjoy free streams. Sometimes a bit of GSL, but due to times not being too great for me I do not watch much GSL at all. Day[9] archives are nice from time to time, but seeing pros stream live usually gets me my fix of SC2 if I wish to see it. I would very, very much like to take time for a live SC2 game between two pros. Currently that's not a realistic scenario for me. As a Dutchman the times may not be too great for me either regarding NASL. Since it's a lot earlier "there" than it is "here". The idea of being able to watch a pro match between two players live in a great setting with awesome atmosphere is something I'd pay for. But given my style of "consuming" SC2 at the moment it's not realistic (yet). I think it's a shame. Waiting for a European version may solve this. Or perhaps I need to be less casual. Time will tell. I think the legitimate complaints should be taken serious by the NASL, though: - Why is there no PayPal option to pay? - Why are people with a pass left in the dark about the vague commercial thing? Those two seem to be fairly acceptable from a neutral persons point of view. I believe the key of selling anything game related which you have to pay for is either make sure you're audience is hooked nevertheless - WoW style - or make it accessible as hell to start something new up. If others did this (league thing) already, or this is too new and fresh you have to at the very least be crystal clear about conditions, and make payment methods as accessible as possible. If potential viewers have to go to various "obstacles" to get to your product - and keep in mind the product has not by any means proven itself yet - or have hesitations consider it your goal to eliminate those things right away. Hence the two things I brought up I think are realistic "obstacles".
