They will eventually allow paypal. It is in the works!

Where is this money going? I understand that GSL actually has a TV studio and paid broadcasters and a professional quality about it. It was hard for me to make the leap to being a subscriber to GSL and paying $10 for each season of play. There is no way that I can justify paying another $25 for this season of NASL unless it proves to somehow be more compelling than GSL.
I like that there is a lot more foreigner representation in the NASL and TSL3 has absolutely generated a lot of interest for me in watching foreigner vs Korean head to head matches...but paying $25 for VODs of broadcasts of online matches, I start to feel like this is oversaturating and cashing in on the popularity of esports rather than really benefiting it.

NASL is 3 months of content vs a month GSL, on the one hand. Top 16 is also played live. Not arguing for the case of NASL, just pointing out some observations.

I just bought my ticket because no matter how bad the stream was i want to support the nasl. Simple as that. If they fail completly (for me) i just won't buy another one. I think they will progress and improve in the next weeks. And the big advantage with the hd pass is that i can watch all the vod's to my favorite time with no live streaming issues. Even if i knew the results i just like to watch top games. Sooo keep improving nasl, don't stop trying and don't loose your fun.

I feel the same way. I want to support NASL and see a season 2 and see if they can continue to improve at the rate they already have.

Even if I could buy a premium pass (which I can't due to no paypal support) I don't think I would do so at this point.
I'm just watching the re-broadcast from last night, and apart from having to watch it in 360p to avoid HUGE lag, I'm watching a terran vs terran where one player is pink and the other magenta...
I don't even know what to say right now. Stuff like that is simply unacceptable for any organization that even remotely wants to resemble a professional sports league. Any other professional sports governing body enforces VERY distinct colors between opposing teams. A TvT (where you can't even distinguish by race) with these colors (and in 360p, mind you) was borderline unwatchable. In fact I'm typing this while game two is still playing in another tab (apparently drewbie just gg'd).
My suggestion to the producers is to watch a few NFL/NBA or FIFA football broadcasts and LEARN.
Regarding the lag. please refrain from telling me it's on my end because I have no problems whatsoever watching any other stream (even the 45k+ viewers TSL) in 720p.
EDIT: Great! Now it's blue vs turquoise (or however you might spell that in english). Oh well, at lest it's a TvZ...

I'm enjoying the NASL a lot so far, stream quality is great most of the time, although the lag during big battles is annoying (is that the result of the computers they're observing from?). The games are really awesome, lots of great players, I didn't buy a pass this time, wanted to see how well they do first, but I'll probably buy one next season, especially if they keep improving. My only complaint really is the audio, please fix that.
Keep up the good work NASL.

If you compare this weeks broadcast with the first week, they've improved lots. So they don't sit back and relax, but look upon the community to give advice how to improve. I don't think there's ever been a SC2 event where there were complaints about players colors. That's really one of those microscopic elements, that you're blowing out of proportion. You can watch it on 480p for free, instead of the 360 you're complaining about. About the lag issues, many viewers had experienced bad lag in the first week, but it seems to be fixed now, seeing how little complaints there are about it.

I can TUNE IN the 480p stream for free. That doesn't mean I can WATCH it in 480p though.
Re: "Microscopic elements": Yes, players' colors are a small detail, yet probably the one that's easiest to fix (just tell the players only red and blue allowed, duh) and it's these details that will in the end show your level of professionalism.
Now, if you combine both of my complaints, you have utter disaster. On the main screen I was simply unable to distinguish between the two terrans' forces, and when the minimap is essentially one single giant pixel (exaggerated, but you get the point) watching strategic movements becomes superfluous with colors that pretty much look the same.
I'm not entirely sure how color blindness works, but I doubt using pink/magenta or blue/turquoise will help people who suffer from it watch the NASL. Are we gonna tell them, that they are a microscopic element of society and we don't care for them having a nice NASL experience and hence lose them to an NFL broadcast, or are we telling players to choose red/blue and red/blue only?
It's NASL's choice, not mine, and I wouldn't put any effort in writing this up if it weren't for my love for this SPORT. Yes, I think it has the potential to eventually be on par with above mentioned sports, but for that to happen every little detail (or microscopic element) needs to be as close to perfect as possible.

If I could afford it I would. Being forced to choose,I choose GSL.

Vods are too slow uploading I'm sure the content is great, but can't get to it easily enough.

I feel NASL has improved a lot after week 3, or was it 4 ? I think 3. But it was because the start was terrible. They fixed all the urgent stuff, but there are still a lot of things very easily improvable. It seems they're like "Well, now we have an average product, it's good enough" I don't suggest things that require a lot of money (some people suggest they should hire a sound engineer, a graphist, and so on). Obviously they can't print money and their goal (and ours) is to at least not lose money, and perhaps win some. But with minimal expenses I'm sure they could add a lot to their production (charts in the pregame show so we know what players are playing for ?) And theire are a lot of little stuff that doesn't cost a thing they could fix too. But I'm pretty sure the final part (last 16) will be awesome anyway.

I'll pay next season if they get better casters. i.e. Gretorp is no longer one of them.

things nasl needs:
better players (current line up is full of low class players)
better casters...
more effort into quality and finesse within the production scheme (I feel like they stopped making things better and are going cheap)
shorter season...I hate the "some games don't matter" feeling. I know they matter but the impact of each game is much less than other tourneys. I'd rather have quality games than quantity.
please fix the walkovers...it is just sad for the organization. Players not taking NASL seriously makes it look really bad.
Please please learn from tournaments like IPL, DreamHack, and MLG. Look at the quality of these organizations!!!

As a paying customer, heres my feedback:
- Needs better production values, the stream graphics and studio look very cheap and amateurish. Also the website doesn't look professional at all, looks like it was made by a high school kid (look at GOMTV and IPL to see what a professional website should look like). Finally they need a new logo because the current logo looks like it was done from Microsoft Word clip art.
- VODs need to be uploaded immediately. As someone living in Australia I can't watch it live because of work, so I bought the HD pass. But Vods are uploaded like 3-4 days after the stream is broadcasted, it is a slap to the face for all people that actually pay to support the league. Also there should be an option to select the quality, I do not want to watch in 1080p because of download limits.
- New casters, both incontrol and gretorp are nice guys but their commentary doesn't bring the excitement. (Maybe a reason is that they are casting so many games every week which makes it hard to stay excited, so bring in more casting duos).
Overall it has been a very good effort and if they listen to the community in improving for season 2 I will continue to support them.
P.S I think Incontrol hyping the NASL up on SOTG put too much expectations on the league. He made it sound that the league will be better than the GSL.

As a fellow paying customer, I agree with your points and would add one significant one. NASL needs a competent producer. There were too many "wtf" moments on air that a seasoned producer should have caught/corrected before they hit the air. Things like Gretorp's open mic slip-up about Ret, to the terribly executed "When Cheese Fails" segment, to the other various failures of cutting/editing to the Painuser debacle - all of these could and should have been caught by the show's producer. Generally in a news or sports type broadcast, the producer serves as the show's director, internal censor, and last bastion of sanity and it is relatively clear to me that the NASL needs someone with experience in the field helping push the show in the "right" direction.
That said, the casters really improved as the season went on, and there have been some truly excellent games. I'm very much looking forward to the playoffs, and will be making the decision whether or not to pick up a Season 2 pass based on how the playoffs pan out.
