Extra time, injuries, red card, exhausted players. Let's celebrate an injury! Nah I'm not celebrating at all, that's gross. Its just an observation. I get it, but even I wouldn't write it like that I would try to avoid it completely, because it just sounds worng in any way you write it. IMO Fair enough.

There are several players who simply shouldn't be on the pitch anymore for health reasons...

There should be a rule to allow the ref to technically skip to the penalties, this is horrible on both sides. Players are too fatigued and it's dangerous.

It's was actually a very nice goal. Was expecting a big clusterfuck of an own goal

PS: fun stat the German commentators were milking the entire game:
Forsberg has not played a single Bundesliga game for 90 minutes last season. But he played in all but 5 games (of which he was injured in 4)
He had one 90 minutes game in total in the last season (vs ManU in CL)

So the winning goal was scored by the player who's been playing his 3rd national game and who scored his first national goal! What a goal!

That was such a good goal. Congrats to Ukraine!

7 of my 15 fpl-players survived this round. I mean the game is fun. Build a new team week 1, week 2 (limitless), week 4 (elimination round), prob week 5 (wildcard) :D

Best once-in-a-blue-moon chance for England to win a major championship. Not only they have home advantage (except for QF), most other teams have to travel back and forth venues (more so than if the Euro was hosted by England only). It's clear that fatigue is biting in hard on such teams. Just like fixture congestion at club level.
Plus the bracket has been kind to England, and been tough on the other top teams.
In short, the deck is stacked nicely for England. Really no excuse not to win, and win with style.
Why are neutrals not invested or excited in England? Because despite all the advantages given on a silver platter, they are playing scared and just hoping for more good fortune to fall their way from their opponent's mistakes.

They were really running on fumes. On paper this should be an easy win for the English side in the quarters. But with these Euros, nothing happens like it should

I don't get why England gets a shot at playing a RO16 match on home soil. No other 'home' team has that opportunity. And Finals and SF is already in England.
No, don't give me a technical reason based on availability of other venues. I'm sure matters can always be arranged to strike a balance between fairness and safety. Just like CL Final shifting to England.

I think Dublin was a host but they declined in the last moment, and UEFA gave England all the Ireland matches because it was close. So they have more matches than any other host.

Everyone's complaining that we aren't playing Grealish, Sterling, Sancho, Foden and Saka but no-one seems to have given a thought to how that would work. We can't play em all and Sterling, Grealish and Saka are all in amazing form.
I think people are too critical of England's style. We haven't won a tournament since 66 and we seem to have hit on a formula for clean sheets. We would be wise to stick to what works

And they like to play from defense on breaks. So all in all it breaks down if England can win in such conditions outside of their home. Considering how much effort they had to make to win over Cze it's iffy.

Sancho apart from Sept 20-Feb 21, has been one of the best scorers in alle of europe for two years now. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing Grealish and I totally see that using Saka helps England right now but not using Sancho at all (apart from what 2 minutes)?
And I'm not complaining that they aren't playing all at the same time. Mount played some fantastic passes to Sterling during the first game. He was the one offensive guy who would've had a safe spot after that game. Kane, Foden, Sterling? Not so much. That game gave enough reasons to start one of Sancho or Saka in game 2.

Saka was a nice bold tactical touch against Germany. Sancho deserves more playtime too.
Due to home advantage, England has higher energy and fresher legs. The game-plan should be to apply pressure and tire opponents, rather than sit back and slow play. So field players who can run hard and pass well.
Teams like Spain and Denmark have figured this out. Keep possession and pressure, and eventually the opponent will crumble. Croatia mounted a great comeback, but their legs were just gone at extra-time.
It's just odd that England isn't playing to its advantage, and plays too reactively. That's perhaps where the criticism comes from, which is actually high praise - England has the potential to outplay good teams in Euro, but is too timid to try. Or in other words, England is just making each match more difficult than it really is.
