BBC political editor Laura Kuenssberg says Theresa May is expected to head to Buckingham Palace today to speak to the Queen, "with the understanding she can form a government". This is a result of conversations that have been taking place with the DUP over the past hours, though it is "not necessarily an attempt to form a formal coalition. "The DUP have no wish to see Theresa May out of office and no wish to work with Jeremy Corbyn," added Laura.

Still should be 2 more easy seats for them taking to 318, then one left in Kensington Just give me Boris Johnson conservative leader please for the next election as im sure this coalition is only going to last a good 2 years at best, even though im sure unlike the lib dems the Irish contingent going to be no issues at all and just ask for things for there country which they will easily agree too. Still coalitions don't last long surely as it is so hard to force through your agenda's still especially when im sure there is a few conservatives who are disgruntled with May's roboticness and guy she got to make the manifesto xD Didn't the last time there was a coalition with the Irish asking for "just Irish stuff" contribute to the build-up to WW1 (or generally to the completely chaotic breakdown of diplomacy that preceded it)? ![]() Also, Boris Johnson is the British equivalent of Trump. A bloated loudmouthed ape with troglodyte ideas. He's just marginally more coherent, because being British, he actually does have the best words, instead of just claiming so.

Sadly, it seems to be hard to get rid of FPTP for a sensible system. I guess people get used to any bullshit. I wonder what arguments were used to keep it in that 2011 referendum. It helps nobody but the Tories and they don't have a majority by themselves.

Lol that was a many long time ago and all they are asking for is a good trade deal that includes Northern Ireland, they are backing TM Conservative party and leadership. So thats a big win for Conservatives. Boris is great because he is alot cleverer than people give him credit for, he is very tactful and well he is great xD But it looks like that won't happen for another 2-3 years at best anyway as May is going to run the country and do Brexit talks herself for the foreseeable future.

But ok maybe Tactful Boris is the wrong wording but he defo isn't stupid and defo does things purposeful (not everything) to gain his publicity etc. Last party election he was cited as not having a chance due to no proper political experience, he is gaining that every passing day now as Foreign Secretary! Has the charisma and people power to pull in other kinds of voters too, maybe even more so to the younger generation which could destroy Labour in areas.

Edit: There's no hope for Boris Johnson. He dropped out of the opportunity to be the current prime minister when David Cameron resigned, and for the same reasons it is unlikely the conservatives will want him back. If he is to be Prime Minister, UK will become a laughing stock on the same level as USA is currently.

Though the DUP would be wise to remember what happened to the Lib Dems when the had a minority colation with the Conservatives, and whether they truly wanted to part of brexit in the part of the country most staunchly opposed to brexit. the DUP campaigned for leave, but they currently advocate for a soft brexit and no hard border between NI and RoI
