Cant. Get. The. Ball. | ||

For any of those 13 extra shots? I think you're over exaggerating. Westbrook spent most of the game without even giving the slightest thought to passing until he was flying out of bounds after a failed drive attempt. It's almost like a catch-22, Durant isn't going to get the ball because Westbrook always drives, so they never setup plays to get Durant the ball.

The only reason he "can't" get the ball is Russell Westbrook's willful decision to take shots. EDIT: Although, Durant did have a shitty shooting night. Still, general principle.

No matter how good a defender is, he can't deny you the ball every possession. And frankly, Shane Battier isn't the "best defender in the world." Which is my problem with their offense - let Durant bring the ball up and let Russel work off the ball at times. He is a natural SG after all. But Durant was getting gummed up by TA all night. He didn't really explode until that OT. More importantly than Durant not getting the ball is why no one else is either. 33 shots from Westbrook is too much.

Short of everything, the play by Westbrook, Collison, Durant and Harden collectively pulled a win out of Memphis.

@Holcan: It wasn't one scenario, I'm not saying Russell Westbrook can't or shouldn't shoot. I'm saying Russell Westbrook shoots too much. He's good but the problem is how good he views himself. One day, he'll realize that Durant's existence has contributed much more to his performance than his existence ever mattered to Durant. Let me put it this way, the Thunder will be in a game, soon, against a more worthy opponent - and they will have to reap what Russ Westbrook sows.

Short of everything, the play by Westbrook, Collison, Durant and Harden collectively pulled a win out of Memphis. I actually don't have too much of a problem with that one 3 second inbounds play, Battier pretty obviously forced the ball to be filtered to a mostly open Westbrook, my criticism was for the whole game. It's been a long time ailing for OKC and if they don't fix it they will be a perpetual disappointment.

It's coming... | ||

If Durant had a pass-first/pure shooter type PG (IMO Steph Curry would be really good alongside him) that would be perfect. That way the offense can run through Durant but you'd have someone to be able to light it up from outside. ~~

(IMO Steph Curry would be really good alongside him) My brother was at Davidson during the Steph years.... he praises the ground he walks on. It makes BYU Jimmer fans seem tame.

Obviously he is "the guy" for this Bulls team, but in other situations he has shown a willingness to defer to his teammates and play more of a supporting role (Team USA, the All-star game), something Westbrook doesn't seem to be able to choke down. Anyway I checked the score early in the 2nd quarter when it looked like Memphis would turn this one into a laugher and I didn't check the score again until after the 3rd OT finished :X fuck my life.

Conley definitely has "I want to be the hero" syndrome, though at least he had a really clean look at that 3. I loved watching Lionel hollins's reaction as he tried to call time out and a's the shot went up and Conley fouled out. Sad and disappointed hehe

Durant is too long to bring up the ball all the time, small guards can really harass him and poke the ball out.

Rose does it because he has to, (he doesnt have Deng (The only Bull Kobe wanted to play with*) and Boozer) Westbrook does it because he has a massive ego. Make up your damn minds, they are essentially the same player, either they both chuck up too many shots, or they both handle their offense the way its needs to be handled. Dont give me this Durant BS, you're strawmanning the argument.
