Proud of my Spurs! And a bit angry at the Heat, who got frustrated and violent in the end of the game (Dampier...).
That is the damn truth right there and what I have been saying all along Miles. Not that they're bad but they just don't have a rich flowing half-court O yet. The Spurs are built on the exact opposite, although they have gotten a little quicker this year.
As for the rotations in the Miami D, ya they prob are trying to make up for their lack of PG defense and also that they have no shot blocking in the middle to which funnel the wings into. But their defense really isn't bad, I just think they need to work on the latter.
P.S. happy b-day Ace

I really feel like Spurs Celtics would be a great finals marchup. Fairly old stars on both team with some strong younger players, great defense on both sides, and KG vs Duncan for best PF of the last decade

Trailblazers fans gave opposing player Joel Prizybilla 3 standing ovations last night. Many people cheered his name and had signs saying they loved him or missed him. Almost made me cry (cause I'm a Trailblazer fan), to see another teams player get that much respect from opposing fans just because he used to be with the team. You'll never see Orlando Magic fans cheer like that for Shaq, and definitely not Cleveland fans for Lebron, if you compare it to other "nobodies" in the Nba, Jamal Crawford isn't gonna get cheered in Golden State and Carlos Boozer isn't about to get cheered at a Jazz game (correct me if I'm wrong). I just wanted to say how happy it makes me that people have heroes that no one would expect to be their heroes, guys who really aren't the stars or play-makers. With all this lockout crap going on all everyone talks about is how much money they stand to make/not make. Refreshing

Happens a lot more in soccer and its great to see.
Edit: Although I guess that statement is a bit misleading since a lot of standing ovations come from from home team fans cheering for away team players that simply do artful moves, rather than cheering for them because they used to belong to the home team. But still it is refreshing to see as you say.

As a pryzbilla and blazers fan, im very happy to hear that, he is such a beast, and has such a great heart with a competitors spirit. The type of player every team wants on their team, even if he doesnt get heavy rotation minutes, he is always ready to play.

El Heat? More like L Heat. That final play was just ugly.
|
What? Jesus stop the hate. The play was great. Miami got Lebron matched up 1 on 1 vs a bigger player. Noah is a great defender and played it beautifully. Miami's end of game execution has been great they just haven't been able to beat some quality defense at the end.

some Heat players? or just Chris Bosh?
|
Sounds like "some Heat players," not just Bosh.
That they care but he may regret he revealed it RT @jadande You think Spoelstra said that to show his players care or show they're fragile?
Spoelstra said last play was designed to force defensive switch & get mismatch. It happened. But going to rim, Noah on LeBron not a mismatch

im so sad about the warriors this season, this was supposed to be our championship season xD

I don't know if anyone who looks at the results can say that the Heat have had great end of game execution. It just doesn't add up. If they did they wouldn't be losing the amount of close games they have over the course of this season.
For reference, Heat points scored in the second half over the past 6 games: 37 45 33 35 58 (washington) 36
Not to mention 1-18 this season when down 3 or less with 10 seconds left on the clock. That says it all right there. Bad plays and bad shots in the clutch, usually by LeBron. That is in not good execution by any stretch of the imagination.

It's a lot better than the jump shots they've been taking. There's no denying that Noah is a great defender, but Lebron took a wild shot instead of trying to draw a foul on the drive and take his chance at the FT line. All would be forgotten if Wade could've made that baseline fadeaway. He didn't though.
There's nothing wrong with being critical of a team with two closers having problems closing out games. I'm sure that I'm not the only one that expects better of this team.

No talk about this Lakers - Spurs game? The Lakers are destroying the team with the best record in the league on their home court.

Lebron wasn't going to get that call against Noah because Noah played it extremely well. Look at how Noah was never fully up on Lebron but managed to close out on him in the end. No way Lebron was getting the whistle there. Also notice Lebron still managed to get a good look up. You can criticize the result but the actual play like every single one of their end of game plays in their losses have been pretty good. No broken plays, no scrambles, no "this guy has no idea what he's doing" issues.

It adds up pretty well when you are watching the game. For example:
The Miami 3rd quarter line up has been getting killed recently. Not only because of offensive problems but defensive as well. I was telling FQD earlier that with Wade having to guard essentially both PGs and SGs he isn't being his normal efficient self on offense. Add in that the teams they are playing have played great defense and the problem compounds.
As I said before you're looking at the result and not the actual play. Lebron has taken 1 bad shot - 3 pointer in Chicago. Otherwise the plays and the shots are great. Miami may have a losing record in close games but the fact that these are mostly close games aside from the SA game says a lot. They haven't had terrible execution either so really they don't have much to worry about.

Lakers are starting to look like champs again
And Bynum is becoming a beast on the boards and with the shot blocking. Whaaaaa?
