Damon was a baller at Toronto, I think he got drafted there if I remember correctly (I remember having his rookie trading card from there I think) and then went to Portland when they were pretty good, but he just kind of went south really quickly. T-mac and carter, the cousins were really exciting to watch but ya they would have had some terrible terrible defense. And plus Tmac would only play for like 30 games a season so they would need a good bench lol. Good players, but wouldn't go far with Stoudemire being their toughest player haha.

And go Baron davis haha, but I think it would have been different with Billups in the game possibly. NY misses him in those types of games.

I've been a Clipper fan for a decade and I had no doubt that Baron would ball this game up because he is a spiteful, narcissistic, fat ass and I hope his house falls on him.

Now that the spite is out, yes, Baron has the ability to suck you in with his gifts. But don't be fooled! He'll be back to take 15 shots a game and hitting a 25% click, with 5 TOs in 22 minutes. God I hate stupid B-Diddy.

Miami has the tendency to swarm on defense and ALWAYS leave an open man somewhere on the perimeter. A disciplined team like the Spurs will always pick this apart.

that first quarter really set the tone for the game.

i still find it amazing how SA keeps on winning. i guess they are the exact definition of team basketball. a ton of credit to pop.

San Antonio is a tough team because their Big 3, just like Boston and LA have clearly defined skill sets and role players that come through.

Miami has "4" players with almost clearly defined skill sets and a helter skelter set of role players.

In the end San Antonio is always dangerous as long as they aren't banged up too much.

@sly: Yea but if San Antonio went small (just reading recaps) Miami shouldn't be letting them live on the 3pt line. It'd be one thing if the Spurs hit 17 contested 3s but bad rotations? Rare for this team.

Good point, they rotate well but sometimes they get overly excited to help, even when it isn't necessary. Wade especially - I'm not sure if he just wants the steal or loves the fact that he's the best blocking guard in the league.

I watched some of the game but I wasn't paying too much attention - I sorta just guessed at the outcome; let me know if I'm wrong on anything.

Well Wade has been gambling heavily in recent games. I'm starting to think he's trying to overcompensate for their PG defense and getting caught out of position. Either way I'll have to watch the game later to see for myself.

I was really worried for the Spurs, that being the best in the league at playing right wouldn't be enough to beat pure talent. Nobody respects or is afraid of the Spurs, and no matter what happens that won't change even if they win the championship (what would people be saying if the Lakers, Miami or Boston had the Spurs record?)

But they are my role models for a winning basketball team, and I'll continue to root for them as an underdog pick, even over my hometown Celtics.

But they play efficient basketball, and they win games. It may be boring, but it does the job.

Spurs aren't boring imo. It's not like they sit around and pound the ball for 20 seconds.

I don't think you could call them boring this season tbh because their offense is really smooth and the can play very fast paced this year.

Testie is right, the Spurs are not at all boring. Just imagine them in a different uniform and you'll see something much more exciting. They play at a fast pace, take threes, penetrate - everything you want in fun ball. I know it's fun to call the Spurs boring but this year, they certainly are not.

The Miami Heat are the gold league cheesers of the NBA. They're really only good in transition, attacking early when the defense isn't ready yet. This is really effective against bad teams.

But against good teams that have good transition defense, they're incapable of playing right in a half court offense.

Proud of my Spurs! And a bit angry at the Heat, who got frustrated and violent in the end of the game (Dampier...).

Big game for the Heat on Sunday. Let's see when they're going to "flip the switch" as they say...
