hey guys, I quit a few months before ros came out. After ros came out, I finished the campaign then grinded bounties a little and quit again. Nowadays I'm hangin out again. I'm a paragon level 300 ish noob wizard. It seems everyone tired and quit non seasonal chars since they are 3k+ paragon and nothing much left to do. And I don't know the game mechanics enough, nor I have the spare time to make a good char before season ends. Maybe I will play seasonal the next season. All in all if there's someone close to my level want to play non seasonal we can hang out. I don't know if playing with party is viable other than doing split bounties but we can find out. Maybe if you are ranged wizard you can shoot from afar and I hold them in melee plus we can share gear. I'm playing a delsere melee-ish wizard in higher difficulties about t8, and a disintegrate build on t2 to farm death breath's with the sage set. http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/mantequilla-2774/hero/57150171

I leveled one to 50something a couple weeks ago. I can honestly say that it didn't feel as derivative as I expected ("why add the necro when WD is already a pet character", etc) but I didn't play at level 70 with sets or anything like that so I don't know how the gameplay REALLY is.

Very interested to see how they tweak this thing before release. Trang Oul set still needs a lot of work... Not enough blood skills to make it meaningful. The poison set was super fun, but man, the Rathma set is just much better than the other ones.

With meh gear I am taking pretty limited damage from T7. I also have the thorns bracers so I am putting points into thorns/life per second and I just tank my way through stuff, although very slowly. In a group the curses would give a lot more benefit and I think you could go a little more defensive and just be a front line for your group. For pestilence I like it with Teeth for Bone Spear just for the mass aoe. I feel this will lose a lot of momentum though as you scale up mobs since the bonus damage for bone spear won't keep up with hp and you will not have corpses to consume.

Btw I never fancied the seasonal characters because why the hell would I spend hours leveling a char from the start to end it at the end.... I always played non-seasonal but is diablo all about seasonal characters now?

- there is no cross ps4/PC play (https://eu.battle.net/forums/en/d3/topic/17289021307) - it is all about seasonal. diablo 3 is usually enjoyed in small spurts of time, personally around 1-2months of climbing seasonal ladder. non-seasonal doesn't change i believe. if that is true and you want to slow-climb your way all the way up and have an immortalized ladder ranking, non-seasonal could be for you. legitimately, i think seasonal is more fun because everyone is starting fresh and going through the same motions--you and your friends. ladder rankings are more obtainable and you can track yourself from day to day. look at it this way. when you get to a certain point on your beefed up non-seasonal char, the items you find (at least a very good majority of them) are value-less to you because you are already hyper geared, and i suspect the motivation to compete for non-seasonal ladder would be quite low all around. - paragon 300 would take about a week, yes, unless you put in lots of hours in a short time span instead. - without a doubt, necro ladder (seasonal) will be more fun than non-seasonal. there is an age-old difference in opinion between people who prefer softcore vs people who prefer hardcore characters. this is my take on hardcore characters: you expect them to die at some point and do not prepare to keep them forever. there is a small meta where you are collecting backup gear in case your character dies, perhaps different gear for you to try another route to climbing grifts. you will be quitting your character at some point regardless, at one point in the season. it's just natural. in my mind, i treat seasonal characters the same as hardcore characters, except that the system is that you are making a new character in 6months to a year.

I speak for game on computer, but I don't think it is too different on consoles (which, as stated above is completely separated). If you want toenjoy the story mode, and a few adventure question at your pace, just play alone and with a few people you know (IRL, or from TL or such). It won't matter much if you play seasonal or not. And except for potential RP, I wouldn't recommend HC. If you want to push the game, you can find some power-level, i.e. getting rushed to level 70, in less than 10 minutes. If you find one or more willing people, you can even have gear boosts, that will bring you to a T6 viable char, with at least 200+ parangon, in about an hour or two max. However, in doing so, you almost have to play seasonal. Softcore or Hardcore is up to you to this point (I'd recommend the latter for more fun, and also the arguments given by nanaoei, but to each his own :p).

I'll will be even slower than usual, but I don't want to start twice with the same char in less than a month. I may even do a playthrough, it'll depends on my motivation by then. Actually, if some here want to join me then for some level up at the beginning of next season, without particularly rushing or optimising everything, it'd be a pleasure.

Although you now find several builds in the top 100 for most classes. Last season I believe one DH and one sorc build were actually broken, but the rest was pretty ok, and you can push with a large variety of stuff. I tried them, but I also had fun with many different builds, most of which were actually viable. It vastly depends on what your goals are.

I played two necros (to lvl 10 and 6 or something) to get a slight feel for their aesthetics. The male voice is great but more often than not I listen to music anyway. And I seem to prefer to look at the female ones animations (without any armor that is). But I want the feeling of having that awesome new char going into the season, explorings the possibilites of their sets etc. (Whoever did those portraits should be fired.. why do they have to look that awful?)
