I just realized after looking that there wasn't a thread dedicated to D3 anywhere on TL that's been posted in in the last two years, so I figured I'd make one, it being another soon-to-be-released Blizzard game.
I don't know how much any of you have played the earlier games, but I've gotten maxed characters in both, and I just love the story, world details, and lore involved with the series. I can certainly say that I'm almost as excited for D3 as I am for SC2.
You can post updates, questions, or anything else about to the game here. Hopefully there are enough people on TL interested in Diablo to make this into a decent discussion topic If there is enough interest, I'll start putting news and updates here in the OP.
EDIT: Thanks to whomever bumped this, totally forgot that I made this post >.< I'll add some of the Blizzcon stuff here in the OP for easier reference.

I believe it was mentioned that Diablo III will be out before the first SC2 expansion, right? That should be next year.

The Wiki page for Blizzard says it's expected in 2011, so, yeah, probably before any expansions for SC2, but still after the WoW expansion.

Sometimes I actually feel bad for blizzard.
They have 2 HUGE games that they build a sequel on but the expectations of those sequels are so high that it must be daunting to even attempt to make them. People don't want just a good game in SC2 and D3..they want something groundbreaking and untouchable again.
Then I remember how they took something intrinsically simple like Bnet and messed it up and my sympathy wilts away.

Sure there have, D3 doesn't seem to enjoy as large a following on the diablo 2 forums either. Mainly because they haven't really released anything that interesting and the d2 community is now smaller. In the future, it'd be nice to start a thread for a specific reason or to make discussion.

I'm very interested in Diablo III, but Blizzard seems to have let it fall off their radar. The Diablo 3 site hasn't been updated in almost a year, what is there to spark interest?

I think the game is still too far away for Blizzard to release updates on a regular basis.

There hasn't been discussions about D3 because there hasn't been anything to discuss; the game's still tightly under wraps. Have they even revealed the 5th class yet? I bet once Blizzcon rolls around we'll have more to talk about.

I think this is mostly because SC2 is going to be released much sooner. They're putting all their effort into SC now, but I think the coverage for Diablo will pick up after SC2 gets released.

We can probably expect the last class to be announced at Blizzcon this year, as they've revealed a new class for the past two years at that event.

Aye Aye, looking forward to D3. TBH, now since I enrolled into uni, I don't have as much time to play games as I'd like to, so I think that D3 is much more up my alley than SC2 xP.

imo, im not sure how they will distribute time for SC2 + WOW + D3.
thats a lot to deal with, until now they're only had WOW for the past 6-7 years...

diablo 2 was what wow has become now, a show off of e-peen (armor) and not skill

@Phil they have different development teams on each game. This means that they can produce the 3 games simultaneously + new content without taking away from any other game. All programmers at Blizz do not work only on WoW then all on SC2 then back on WOW then all on D3, that would be counter productive

I'm waiting for D3 since announcement and I loved D1 the most.

if you're talking about d2 pvp... then you are highly highly mistaken, a good pvper with medicore gear will walk all over a bad player with the godliest gear ever
