I mean i feel we're getting into semantics but the press conference at Blizzcon definitely hyped up a much cooler experience than what was delivered. Not sure 'rightful' or 'mad' expresses most users feelings but it most definitely failed to capture the excitement or vibe that Blizzard was going for or 'promised' when they announced the 'Diablo 1 remake inside Diablo 3'. | ||

People expected effort, got half-assed rift instead, for a limited time too. IMO it would've been better to get nothing at all, simple as that. Just because a company does something for free doesn't mean we should grovel at their feet and be thankful for anything we get. Your view point that people should be thankful for anything they can get is just as skewed as of those who expected the next coming of Christ with Blizzcon's 2016 Diablo announcements. I personally expected D3X2. I didn't get what I wanted either. But I'm completely apathetic to this "gracious" limited-time offer of reliving D1 inside D3, as well as necro class "late 2017". I'm pretty sure I'll have moved on by that time, to newer greener pastures, as well as many other people will, I imagine. | ||

I think big part of the reason some are complaining about the D1 event is that they were hoping for D3X2, or D4. If this had randomly appeared in one of the patches, I think it would've been received differently. | ||

A D1 remake inside D3 is a D1 remake inside D3. Its not Diablo 3 with a video filter overlay. Yes it would take work to make but then they should have announced it differently if they wanted to a different amount of work. I went back to the video clips.twitch.tv We are recreating the original Diablo in Diablo 3 That certainly sounds like classes, monsters and the map. | ||

If this had randomly appeared in one of the patches, I think it would've been received differently. well, thats not blizzard's fault. it didnt promise d3x2 or d4. blame rhykker and his self-titled conspiracy theories. nevertheless, this has gone far afield. i have no problem with people being disappointed or not liking the d1 event (i didnt like the event), but whining about a free gift is incredibly stupid and just reinforces my belief that the vocal people on forums (not you specifically cascade) are a bunch of whiny, entitled children. | ||

I personally don't care. it just means that the currently planned event isn't worth starting D3 up for me personally. But what matters with these types of announcements is first impressions. You say something standing on that stage and it forms an image in people's heads. And that image is what the end result gets compared to. Saying "We are recreating the original Diablo in Diablo 3" puts the original Diablo with Diablo 3's engine in my head. I see a graphical update of the old monsters, the old heroes and the old map. I don't see a D3 rift with a grainy filter on it and I will bet you many many more people had that same image. Hence why many people are disappointed by the event. | ||

When I pick up the game again I'll be tremendously happy about the following change: Bounties Bonus Acts have been removed With this change, completing five bounties in any act will now grant you a Large Horadric Chest containing the same contents as the Horadric and Bonus Caches The QOL improvement to builds and crafting are welcome as well. About the primal ancient gear... I feel this is just a way to prolong perfecting a build. Not a fan on the first glance. With all the hidden boni the game relies less on weapon damage compared to skill and item combinations. The armory I find nice. | ||
