I'm just kind of psyched that Draenerys finally has an army, seems they've mostly spent 2.5 seasons on her story just to get to this point. yeah and what about her dothraki? is that even a number worth mentioning or do they just seem small in the tv series but are actually noteworthy? @wildlings: i think they have by far the biggest numbers in troops (as well as monsters like giants), which is evened out by their lack of morale/discipline/obedience.
all her Dothraki left after Drogo died. The only ones who stayed are too old or too young to fight plus her bloodriders.

I think it's safer to assume that the areas that were not hit by the war have the biggest armies right now. So the Tyrells and probably Dorne are the strongest regions right now. The Eerie is kinda odd. We hardly hear anything about them and theey dont seem to do anything

well, then it might be a good idea to return to the fled dothraki tribes and show him who is the boss around that corner to grow even bigger. dothraki are feared by the westeros folks and seem like great warriors and another big additon to daenerys' troops.
i imagine dothraki as the mongolian nomads at their prime (under dshingis khan), minus the master archery, minus the strategic genius, plus fierceness in melee combat, but still godlike on horses.

I contemplated on that myself. So, she gave the unsullied the opportunity to walk away, meaning they technically aren't slaves anymore and people in westeros won't hate her for using slaves. Of course, the unsullied are in practice unable to deny her commands, but they're not slaves, and that's what matters for her. (Of course, it's also a matter of principle for her, not using slaves). WP Danerys, WP.
I think unsullied could have walked away, but they enjoyed killing their masters and since fighting is all they can do and have nowhere else to go, it is only logical for them to stick with Dany. Question is what are they going to eat? Danny doesn't have any gold or resource and now she's got an army of over 8000 soldiers. She did just sack an entire city with those 8000 soldiers. Even though the series didn't show it, it is logical to assume she took a lot of valuables and supplies like any good Dothraki Khal would. She killed the masters and freed the slaves. I don't think she actually sacked the city, because that would cause immense suffering to the common people there.
She may have looted the possessions of the slavers, though, and that's still going to be something.

And now she's supposed to go all the way back with an army?
look at this spoilerfree map: + Show Spoiler +
astapor is pretty close to the dothraki sea. i dont see a big problem making a quick detour. :p

I'd be very surprised if they ever go back.
She has 8000 Unsullied. Robb has just under 20k solders, Lannister has over 20k, Renly has 100k, lost some 20 of those to stannis who now died but that still leaves some 80k troops in south Westeros. She has an army. But its no where near enough to challenge even 1 of the crown contenders.

well, 8000 elite soldiers (+a few thousand recruits) no matter how strong are still a small number. sure, she also has her dragons, but it will take a long while till they are grown.

I also don't think she's going to go back Westeros for a while, she'll probably want to clean up the slaver cities and wait for the dragons to grow up.
A single mature dragon did that. There young and it will be many years before there strong enough to take on armies.

she is still the khaleesi and i bet she will want to live up to this name and show the dothraki tribe leaders whos the real boss.

Why doesn't Joffrey land siege to Storms End? I mean Stannis is located at Dragonstone. Who really holds Storms End?
I guess after wedding then.

i dont think most people know where stannis is at this point and they are still very busy with the war in the north i guess. if they knew now would be the best time to attack dragonstone and end him once and for all since he appears to be at his weakest right now.

remember that castles are build to be defended even with a minimal garrison. I think taking Storms end would take a larger army then the lannisters are willing to draw away from the war in the north.

They just beat Stannis in the Battle of Blackwater Bay, he probably doesn't have that many ships left and is no issue currently, and I'd assume they lost at least some ships themselves on the battle. Robb on the other hand is kinda close to the capitol now making him the bigger threat currently.

I think GRRM never fully thought through the distances there. :D

That part of the map is to a big extend speculation (so the map says itself).
