I'm pessimistic. They'll make a shitty film from a good book yet again.
And it is hard to make good films from something which is as long as asoiaf. Each book is about as long as the whole LOTR, and it took three long films with a high budget to do LOTR in a decent way.

It's a series of episodes, not a film. Hopefully hour long episodes. 13 Per book iirc. So that's hopefully thirteen hours per book, not so bad?
