Since the wall is supposedly a few hundred KM long I guess you have to wonder why the Wildlings aren't smart enough to just climb it on the outer side but I guess sieging only the part where Castle Black and all of the Crow's forces are serves for a better plot!
That smug look on the boy who just shot Ygritte was hilarious.
The majority of their host is women and children and not even all the men are capable of climbing the wall. Mance is trying to save the free folk so they need to be able to get through the wall not just over it.

I really hope they address Tyrion next episode. Hopefully it's not an hour long episode on Dany.
the preview is out already, it outlines the episode, we'll have scenes from everywhere, Tyrion, Danny, Wall, Bran...
The force attacking from the south was too damn large, when did they sneak 50-100 people over. When Jon climbs with Tormund u see like 10 at most and many of whom died to the Direwolves+Jon when he reveals himself. Ok, the Thenns join as well, but still that was a large force. To be fair, they say that 20 NW men guard the gate to the south, and there are at least 50 who die to the wildlings there so yeah... Just ignore the numbers when it comes to the Wall
Ygritte says there about 20 on the wall/gate, she couldnt see all the men standing in the courtyard plus the men that Thorne brings down.

Fantastic battle sequence, superbly done. I have to say its strange though I didn't feel anything for Ygritte's death... which is odd because I like her character a lot. I mean maybe it was the fact that it was that kid who killed her. She did murder his parents afterall... Is this the first time that any character in the show was actually able to get the kill on the person who wronged them? I mean I suppose Oberyn got to kill the mountain (hopefully) but of course we all know that didn't go exactly according to plan.
I just wonder if her death scene would have carried more weight if she were killed by someone we could be upset at like Tormund, Alistar Thorne, or Janos Slint or hell I even thought it was gonna be Sam for a second.
Final thought: God damn Sam was great this episode. I loved it. I love seeing a character grow into something new and I feel like this was the episode that cemented the change in Sam leaving behind who he was when he arrived at the wall.

Killed the thenn leader 1v1. did a 1v3 before then. Dagger dude almost got him but didn't and in GOT we reward results not flashing spear spinning. We need a weekly powerranking
Nah the Northern scene's full of code B scrubs and untrained foreigners.
Will jon manage to pull of an xPeke on mance ? i dunno how he would cross a 100 000 men army in a day, without beiing detected, to kill of the leader but we'll see.
it would be interesting also if the withe walkers decided to move south now and sandwich the wildlings on the wall :p
Thought it was a pretty meh episode, the fighting scenes were awesome though, but overall it was a below average episode. Couldn't care less for Ygritte, terrible actress/character.

Jon Snow future Whitewalker king confirmed.
Maybe the author is a fan of the warcraft books who know ?

I... I don't know. Scythe is op I agree.
The wildlings could also go by boat. Like I know they don't have many boats, but pulling a Ghengis Khan can't be that hard. Chop a few trees. Make some rafts.
It's possible to attack the wall on the sides where the scythe can't hit. Not great, but possible.
About the map: I am pretty sure the Wall goes on into impassable terrain. To cross the river at the arrow, the wildlings would need to climb a mountain range first.
Osha, the wildling who served in Winterfell and now travels with Rickon, said she crossed Eastwatch by the sea in a small boat.

It makes me wonder if there are deathknight or reanimated heroes / leaders in the white walker army. It would be rly cool if it was the case.

From last week I thought it was gonna be a boring battle, but noo.. awesome ep.. love the battles, I was expecting a sloppy fight ( like when they attacked Craster's Keep) . Jon is a pretty good fighter and the Lord Commander. And those 5 guys who killed the giant. Damn I was hoping that bearded guy would survive.
Some thoughts:
1.)Why do the Wildlings didn't think of just climbling on the far side of the wall where no one defends ? Then they could just flank the Castle Black's top defense.
2.) How large is the force who attacked from behind the wall?
1) They are hundreds of thousands, they need a gate to march the bulk of that army through (and they are somewhat stupid)
2) Probably 50'ish
I didn't mean all should climb. Maybe a flanking force to distract the defence. Also. for the guys saying "why they should just collapse the wall" Jon Snow already suggested it to the Lord Commander, and even asked the head of the builders. They believed it can't be breached so, Jon failed to convinced them.
Heh. I wonder if The Mountain can kill a Giant 1v1.
The Mountain would just pull guard, and triangle-armbar the giant.
Gawd could you imagine how scary a guy like that would be if he was a Jiu Jitsu black belt too? He could rip parts right off of people...
Also After seeing the giants in the north I couldn't help but wonder... Are there going to be giant white walkers too?! I mean if they can do horses why not a giant right?
As for the boats that probably would of been a smart idea but he did just burn down pretty much any usable wood in the area haha.
